The least surprising outcome. History tells us that we’re going to swings like this, but generally not to this magnitude. My advice to Trump - don't campaign on no new wars and affordability then do the exact opposite when you’re in the seat. There’s no one to blame but themselves. The GOP hitched their ride to a sinking ship.

17 of 19 midterms since WW2 have lost seats against the President in the House; 13 of 20 in the Senate.

I remember my first day following politics too.

There have been 13 midterms where the sitting President’s party controlled both chambers, and only 5 of those resulted in both chambers swinging against the President. So, statistically - it isn’t common.

You are aware that is among the smallest losses in the House in midterm history? For example, Obama lost 63 in 2010. Last night is less than 10 I believe. The Senate is in a 4 way tie for 3rd with 9. Guess who Trump is tied with there: Obama, Clinton and FDR.

You have no idea what you are talking about and look like a clown. My advice to ChucktownWillie - take the time to be informed before you say stupid and easily provable garbage. You have no one but yourself to blame. You hitched your ride to a ship littered with nonsense.

here have been 21 midterms where the sitting President’s party controlled both chambers, and only 5 of those resulted in both chambers swinging against the President. You said 5 of 13 midterms less than an hour ago. That's more than a third.

Historically, this is among the lowest number of seats to change in both houses combined. Less than 20. The majority flipped because the Congress had a narrow margin where the Dems only needed 4 Senate and 3 house seats to flip.

I get it. You're excited. But put the emotion aside and just look at the data. It's not hard.

The only thing it matters about is whether a Supreme Court Justice spot opens up. What has Congress really done in the past 20 years except spend our money? The last real legislation was probably the creation of DHS

Obama, Biden, and Trump all governed by executive order regardless of which tribe occupied Congress. I don't like it, but that's the way it is now. Republicans and Dems refuse to work together and this is the result.

I wouldn't say it is history in the making. Literally every off year election pushes back against the party in power.

Odd post for someone against hate. Libs are always exactly the people they claim to despise.

I hope you’re wrong but it’s possible. I’m sure there’s a lot of pent up frustration and anger at the president and MAGA for their abusive and criminal behavior. Hopefully they focus on the long game and take this opportunity to “fix” America. Focus on inflation, focus on high energy prices, focus on ending this war. If they spend all their energy on impeaching the president, which I’m sure to them is very tempting, they will get the boot in 2028.

I'm not. There's plenty of examples of it already. It's only a matter of when and the Democrats have proven they will defend them.

Now how long before you all get everything fixed now that you have some power. Need a time line on expectations and you don't get to take credit for the things Trump already did that will be producing results.

None of that is true. He isn't suspected of anything. Just because the left ignored Epstein for 14 years and just caught on 2 years ago doesn't change any of the facts. Anyone who has actually followed it understands why Trumps name was in the Epstein files
