This past weekend, Michigan beat VMI 50-0 in Lexington. Sort of shame they didn't drive the extra 45 minutes south to visit Blacksburg.

I'm not expecting to. Think it'll come out either Wednesday next week or on match day.

The official roster has been on Trackwrestling since October 1 as required by the NCAA. What is it you're looking for?
The 31 expected wrestlers are all there, all except Cole Mirasola have certified weights. As discussed, Levi Haines and Jayden James are not on the roster.

Yes, but official weights aren't listed there, which I assume OP is looking for, even though we know most, if not all, of them already.

Additionally, I'm dying (sarcasm font) to know if they'll start listing eligibility by year (first-year, second, etc.) or continue using freshman, sophomore, etc., in our new eligibility model age.

The only thing "official" is the actual weight on the scale for certification, which they don't publish, and then weigh ins for competitions, again, rarely made public. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Really .... I think it is still a question on what weight Duke and MM wrestle. Less so with Blaze, but there is some small question there as well.

How about the "official" psu website gopsusports that still lists Lucas Cochran on the roster? Is it too much to ask to have that updated a week before the first match? Coupled with tickets not being available yet makes me SMH. I understand that certain personnel decisions wait until the last minute but former students on the roster and no tickets available have nothing to do with that.

After U23s, people were questioning if he'd ever win even one NCAA title.

Stanich won their last matchup as has Blaze albeit both in free.

Wrestlers who hand fight well and wait for the inevitable Bassett mistake have given him problems.
Stanich is 3-1 against Bassett in freestyle (don't believe they ever met in folk), with all matches coming last year. Agree that it was pretty silly to suggest nobody has a chance against Bassett in college.

There are actually two guys who CAN stay with Bo, and that's Stanich... and Blaze, actually. But if Bo gets ahold of either one of the Raneys that match will be over in 2 minutes.

Amazing performance at senior worlds, he also had a hugely disappointing non-placing performance at U23 a few weeks before. Freaking love his wrestling style and attitude, but I'm not about to make any predictions about his college career. You can't say nobody is beating him, when people recently beat him.

I mean Stanich is a stud.... I wouldnt take him lightly and Bassett is Folk remains to be seen.
It seems like every year someone is projected to be the next Cael...

I have my doubts.
Thats not to say he wont be great but undefeated is crazy talk

We r going to find out if there is a huge difference between how well a wrestler does in freestyle vs folkstyle. Have a feeling Bassett going to take the folkstyle round.

lol. No one is Touching Bo Bassett in College. He’s that Good.
Stanich will give Bassett all he wants. Crookham was stronger than anyone pound for pound and Stanich could control him at workouts. Bassett is special, if he dominates Stanich than I think you might be looking at a 5 timer.

I'm not going to make any prediction. It's logical that Bassett's style and unlimited gas tank is better suited to freestyle, where someone can not neutralize him by riding.

By the new rules I don’t think Basset has 5 years , he aged out of that possibility

According to VA tech the NCAA is saying 5 🤷. What it's sounding like is the age rule starts next year because the rule change happened after the 2026 class graduated HS. Wish the NCAA would just make things clear instead leaving everything open for interpretation. I have spoke with some coaches who believe you can't medical anymore no matter what. Some say you can medical still if you are under the old 4/5 rules. So the season has started and some think a guy can still medical and some say he can't. I had heard that Sealey could get one which was odd now it's sounding like Iowa st is saying Gaitan will get one now that he's out . The NCAA could clear all this up easily but instead they want to leave it open to compliance office interpretations

Stanich has to ride hime like rented mule, take the air out of the ball. If Bassett stays on his feet he wins.
I don't know...have we seen him ridden like that recently? I can't bring myself to include stanich in the conversation just yet with his injury history. if the match happens I think it's one sided in favor of Bassett. Hopefully we see fireworks.

Are you saying some of the rule starts this year but other parts like the age requirements start next year. How are organizations so inept ?

“The rule change will be fully effective for all prospects initially enrolling full time in college in fall 2027 or later.

For students enrolling full time for the first time in fall 2026, and current student-athletes with eligibility remaining after the 2025-26 academic year, schools will apply whichever produces the most favorable outcome, either the previous rules (four seasons within five years) or the new age-based model.

For current student-athletes with eligibility remaining under the previous rules, schools must submit any season-of-competition or eligibility clock extension waiver requests, based on circumstances during or before the 2025-26 academic year, with all supporting documentation to the national office no later than July 31, 2026. After that date, waivers of the previous rules will no longer be available.”

I read that as well. But programs are saying different🤷. Time will tell . I think some coaches are confused. I like you think medical redshirts are done as of July 31 2026

I believe there was earlier discussion that the cutoff was going to be August 1 and Mr. Bassett has an August birthday. The current rule is September 1.

How the Five-Year Eligibility Period Works

A student-athlete’s five-year eligibility period begins with the earlier of these two events:
  1. Initial full-time college enrollment: The academic term when the student-athlete first enrolls full time and attends class at any college or university, including a domestic institution, international institution or two-year college.
  2. Age-based trigger: The start of the regular academic year immediately following the student-athlete’s 19th birthday, if the student-athlete turns 19 before Sept. 1. For an individual who turns 19 on or after Sept. 1, the period of eligibility begins at the start of the subsequent academic year, unless the individual enrolls full time in college earlier.
