Full 2026–27 CFP Selection Committee Roster

According to the official College Football Playoff roster, the committee for the 2026–27 season consists of 13 members:

Most of these people serve on the 2026 College Football Playoff selection committee, so I’ve noted that role and what each does in their main job.

  • Troy Dannen: He is the athletic director at Nebraska. He is on the CFP selection committee for the 2026 season and recuses on Nebraska games. wikipediacollegefootballplayoff

  • Mike Riley: He coached 48 years at the college and pro levels, including head jobs at Oregon State and Nebraska. He joined the CFP selection committee in 2024 as an at-large member. collegefootballplayoffcbssports
  • Jeff Tedford: He stepped down as Fresno State’s head coach, citing recurring health concerns. He is a former Fresno State head coach who joins the CFP selection committee starting with the 2026 season. aolgvwire
  • Wesley Walls: He was an All-American tight end at Ole Miss. I didn’t find a current outside job for him, and he serves on the committee, recusing on Ole Miss games. collegefootballplayoff
  • Carla Williams: She is Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Virginia. She was appointed to the CFP selection committee in 2024 for a three-year term. virginiasportsvirginia
  • Hunter Yurachek: He is athletic director at the University of Arkansas. He became CFP selection committee chair in November 2025 after Mack Rhoades stepped down. Arkansas fans and local commentators have been calling for his firing this fall, and one report said trustees were split 7-3 in favor of a change, but I found no sign he has left the job. lemaaol

7 of 12 committee members are from SEC country.
2 from Midwest.
Nuff said..this one truly is rigged.

Collegiate career

After graduating from LaGrange, Williams went to UGA on an athletic scholarship[5] and made the starting lineup in her sophomore year.[3] During that season, she was named to the South squad for the United States Olympic Festival in Houston.[6] She later asked Landers why he offered her a scholarship over other players that were ranked higher and he told her “you have all the intangibles that we need for our program."[3] In 1987, Williams was again named to the United States Olympic Festival[7] and Atlanta Tipoff Club's Division I women's basketball All-Star Team.[8] Upon completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology in 1989, Williams was a four-year letterwinner and finished her career with 1,115 points.[9] She was also an All-SEC selection guard and tenth highest scorer in UGA women's basketball history.[10]

Career

After graduating from UGA in 1989, Williams competed in professional basketball in Spain, but was encouraged by Jerry Legge to return to her alma mater to complete a Master's degree of Public Administration. After completing her MPA, Williams became an assistant coach for the Lady Bulldogs until 1996 under Andy Landers, who she played for as an athlete.[9][10] During her time as a coach, she helped the Lady Bulldogs advance to consecutive Final Fours in 1995 and 1996, and the ’96 national championship game against Tennessee. After five years in this role, she moved to Florida State University (FSU) when her husband accepted a job there, taking a pay cut to work an entry-level position in the student services office.[3]

During her time at FSU, Williams also completed her doctorate in sports administration and volunteered for the Florida State Seminoles Director of Athletics Dave Hart in several areas in the department including radio and television broadcasts.[11] Upon finishing her degree, Williams accepted a position at Vanderbilt University as an associate athletics director and senior women’s administrator where she oversaw varsity women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s soccer, the Hendrix Dining Room and video operations.[12] In 2004, Williams returned to Georgia as an associate director of athletics before becoming the deputy athletics director.[11]

As the athletics director of the University of Georgia, Williams served on the executive committee of both the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators, as well the NCAA's Woman of the Year Selection and Women's Basketball Issues Committees. In recognition of her efforts, she was named one of the top-10 Senior Woman Administrators in the NCAA.[13] She was also the recipient of the Athens Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.[14]

After spending 13 years in athletic administration at Georgia, Williams became the first African-American woman to lead an athletic department at a Power 5 school (ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-12). She joined the faculty at the University of Virginia as an athletic director in 2017.[15][16] She began her tenure at the institution by announcing The Master Plan, a project to "address the immediate needs to upgrade facilities for the Cavalier football program and UVA Olympic Sports."[17] In recognition of her efforts, Williams received UGA's Bill Hartman Award as someone who has "demonstrated excellence in their profession and/or in service to others by 20 or more years of superior performance after graduation."[18]

This week we have:

BYU v Utah ---- we want Utah right?
Texas v MIssouri ----- we want Texas right?
Alabama v LSU ----- we want Bama or LSU here?
Oregon v Ohio State ----- we want Oregon here right?
Kentucky v Tennessee ---- we want Kentucky here right?
Miami v Notre Dame ---- we want Miami to P pound the Irish here.
Georgia v Ole Miss ---- we want Georgia to clean house in this one.

Illinois v Nebraska --- just for run we want Illini to kick the living **** out of Huskers

If we win decisively and some of these fall the right way I would see us gaining at least 4 or 5 spots.

I just hope that IF we go 10-2 that the Minny loss doesn't come back & bite us in the arse AGAIN.

They need to bring back the BCS or some other super computer and let it decide the rankings. AI and computers are not naturally biased.

I have seen this being discussed.

Hell, the BCS computers picked the #1 and #2 teams when there wasn't a playoff. Why not use those computers now?

1998-2013: the BCS combined human polls and computer rankings each week to determine the top two teams that played in the BCS National Championship Game

2014-2023:
4 team CFP

2024-2026: 12 team CFP

I agree with all of this. I'd rather see Bama lose than LSU.
LSU has 3 ranked opponents in a row coming up. They will probably lose another.

Ohio State choking that game away really allowed both conference narratives to take shape. That and Oregon sucking.

And now they are saying that Indiana's and UCLA's schedule is super easy.

There is too much spin and too much bias going on; the whole country sees it.

Curt Cignetti:

“The SEC gets a lot of love from ESPN, you know, and all their writers that they don’t technically pay, but march to their drum,” Cignetti said to Don Fischer on the Indiana coaches show. “So, and that’s why you see all these SEC teams up there, you know, and some good 2-loss teams from the Big Ten, not quite as high. But like I said, it’s all going to be it’s all going to be played out on the field.”

11-1 would have gotten us in. But, moot point.
And Iowa would only have a single loss right now if one guy hadn't lined up in the neutral zone vs. Minny. How incredible is it that ONE play like that could cost the Hawkeyes a spot in the CFP . . . Wow.

Narrative ? Lmao…..obviously ESPN is overhyping, overranking the SEC because ESPN funds the sec to the tune of 811 million dollars a year, promoting and covering it at the same time.
Oh, no bias there. Just because ESPN is spending nearly a billion dollars on the SEC doesn't mean they aren't totally objective. OMG.

Got to win out which is the best they can do under their control, it is s beauty pageant after that
Which is why 24 teams is a must. No worthy team will be left out of a 24-team event. But the SEC bias is so blatant this year that several worthy teams are likely to miss out in this 12-team SEC invitational.

Iowa made its own bed in Minneapolis
Okay. But then what about the failures of other teams that other posters have pointed out? Iowa lost @ Minnesota 13-10 on a final play FG. Indiana, @ home, had to go OT to beat Minnesota after kicking a miracle 60-yard FG at the end of regulation. Anybody can look at wins and losses, but the nuances should matter.

Revsine and Butt said Iowa can make it for sure if win out and need maybe some style points.

Just think Iowa at Notre Dame with Phil's defense. Yes, please.
"Style points" and Kirk Ferentz do not mix, which has been a problem with KF for his entire tenure. Iowa could have put up 50+ vs. Wisconsin, but KF, predictably, sat on the 20-0 lead the entire second half. It is maddening. KF can deny it all he wants, but college football most definitely IS entertainment, and style points absolutely matter, especially in this 12-team SEC invitational.

Their 2 losses are looking pretty bad. How are they 12 spots better than IOWA?

And I am afraid that at #7 they can afford another loss and still make the CFP at 9-3.

#7 Texas' TWO losses:
27-24 to Oklahoma (now 4-4)
27-24 to Florida AT HOME (now 5-3)

Texas' remaining schedule:
@ #18 Missouri
11/7 11:00 am ESPN

@ #14 LSU
11/14 TBD ABC

vs Arkansas
11/21 TBD

@ Texas A&M
11/27 6:30 pm ABC
Of course. They're Texas. Alabama and Texas have automatic bids every year. What actually happens on the field doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to teams like that.

Except that, as I said before, you feed SEC biased info into the computer, and it will give you biased results. It's always been true of computers: garbage in, garbage out (GIGO). And that's the problem. Computer rankings may make it LOOK objective, but that doesn't mean it is.
