Don't know much about LaSalle's roster for this year, but last year they went 10-8 in the A10 and 19-14 overall with one W in the NIT. Assuming that's the approx level they're coming into this season with, from my POV, that's exactly the sort of team I'd want to see us against in our game two.

It might take Gary Redus II less than six quarters to pick up his first technical foul as a head coach. He's been all over the officials in what's been a physical game so far. Eight fouls called on Rutgers.

...the first technical foul of the season will actually go to Jaylah Lampley, who draws a three-point play off a pick-six, has something to say about it, and gets dinged.

Jersey Mike's Arena -- Gary Redus II included -- are not happy.

Rutgers has opened up its biggest lead of the night at 28-15 with 3:51 left in the second quarter at the media TO.

Mia Pauldo is taking over with seven points in the quarter, while Chikae Desdunes hit a three to push the lead. No fouls in the last three minutes, either, after the Scarlet Knights got whistled for five in the first three.

Imani Lester got called for a travel to go into the TO and Gary Redus II clearly voiced his displeasure with the fact that there was no foul called on La Salle.

The announcers are dumb but even they know that the refs are making a joke of the game. Too frustrating for me. I'm turning game off but will keep track of score.

The announcers don't seem too bright.

If LaSalle could shoot we would be in trouble. They are 0 for 10 on 3s.

Tickets are cheap $10 for non-conference, $15 for conference except for USC at $70...Juju game.
Parking?

Gary Redus II calls a timeout with 1:11 left in the third quarter after two straight threes from La Salle guard Olivia Ostoni cuts the Rutgers lead to 50-40. Offense has come much easier to the Scarlet Knights in the third (21pts) but they haven't been able to pull away yet.

Choppy and chippy game. Lots of players in foul trouble. Desdunes had some freshmen turnovers. Thomas looked unguardable in the third quarter for a bit. Mia Pauldo had some spectacular finishes and passes.

Team is definitely still gelling, but they play very hard.

Mia Pauldo is a bit too out of control for my liking so far, but definitely a big plus to have on the court. I trust the coaching staff to balance her role as a scorer and a distributor. I see some similarity to Tariq Francis of the men's team, but with Mia having better point guard skills.

Mia's two shots off the backboard reminded me of the John Wooden UCLA teams who he taught to use the backboard as misses caused longer rebounds more likely to become offensive possessions. Yes, I am that old.
