I'll try to get this thread back on track:

One thing going in our favor, should we win the next 4, is that it will mean Sellers continues to play at this level. Somebody on the show last night said that when he's playing well, he's the best QB in the country and I think that's true. He's electric. If he plays the next 4 games like he played the last 3, people are going to want to see that.

We're not going to get in over a big named team with 2 losses, but there are going to be a lot of them with 3 losses by December 1st and if you have the most electric player in the game, that's a big resume booster.

This sounds a lot like 2 years ago. We talked ourselves into believing we were going to jump multiple teams that had the same record, but had beaten us head to head.

We tried to talk about "being hot" and having sellers playing great then too.

Although, if someone wants to convince themselves of a path, I agree, thats the way to go.

ESPN runs the CFP and ESPN doesn't care about some player who is subjectively the "most electric player in the game", there are a lot of teams that think they have that player. ESPN cares about what teams will draw the most viewers. Like it or not, SC is not a big draw for tv viewers and very few people outside of the SEC (and quite a few inside the SEC) have never seen Sellers play and aren't even aware of him.

Win the games and hope for the best is all you can do. I would be surprised if a 3 loss non conference champion was in the CFP, regardless of what player was on the team.

1st bolded section: Really? I'd have never guessed from the racist, sexist comments.

2nd bolded section: And obviously doing your best to make sure everyone else experiences it from you.

Your bitterness and hatred show through your words to those who have never met you. Quite a legacy. Maybe try to be the change you want to see instead of living to stick a thumb in the eyes of everyone different than you?

All the more reason top think the Committee will know they screwed SC two years ago, and hopefully wont again. HOWEVER all this depends on SC winning out, which will be a monumental task IMO..

Well agreed, its moot if we don't win out.

But seriously, is there anyone outside our fanbase who thinks we were screwed? We lost a space to a team that beat us. And we were behind another team that didn't make it, but still beat us.

Kalshi has our playoff odds at 11% and our odds of 9+ wins at 18%. That gives implied odds of making the playoff if we win out ~61%. Polymarket has those odds at 12% and 15% respectively, giving implied odds of making the playoff if we win out 80%.

We don't completely control our own destiny, but winning out gives us better than even odds of making it.

I dont recall many people, but thays just off memory. Again, we'd have had to jump not only Ole Miss, who had the same record and beat us, but also Bama, who had the same record as us and also beat us.

I recall a lot of talk of our resume..........but they lost the head to head.

well, it's a hypothetical discussion, after all.

I think there are several key differences between this year and 2024. 1) People are already talking about Sellers and the Gamecocks earlier in the season this time. 2) Chaos reigns this year in a way it didn't 2 years ago - everybody's beating everybody, so it gets a lot muddier when talking head-to-head at the end of the season. 3) We potentially play the #1 or #2 team in the country the week before Clemson instead of Wofford.

You seem remarkably confident about the character of a woman you've never met based on a handful of posts on a football message board. That's quite a talent.

You call me bitter, hateful, and racist, yet the only person repeatedly making personal judgments about someone they don't know is you. Disagreeing with you isn't hatred, and refusing to let you define my experiences isn't bitterness.

And that "as you sow, so shall you reap" line? Cute. Yesterday I spent the day celebrating a blue tsunami with people I actually know and love. Today I'm still smiling!!!

I think we both got exactly the day we deserved.

No junior, not a talent; a pretty obvious observation of that handful of posts from someone coming to a football message board anonymously to proclaim the demise of the white man based on a midterm election; the white man who founded, developed, maintained, and built this country into the most powerful and prosperous nation in history. You should spend some time living, not visiting as a tourist, living in a different country; you need some education.

What are you talking about? You didn't disagree with me, you started going on about race, sex and other unrelated topics before I ever chimed in (you displayed your heart of your own free will from the outset when it wasn't a topic of discussion) . Others pointed that out and you doubled-down with the racist remarks ("white men") and "judgements". I pointed out the apparent root of their origin and that you were subjecting others to the things you complained of experiencing yourself - others who had done nothing to you, yet you attacked them. The hypocrisy of your comments was palpable. Sounds like the only people you "know and love" are those like you.

Everyone could see the content of your heart from your posts (YOU introduced race and sex into the dialogue, so it doesn't take someone of a certain color and a number of degrees to figure out what's on your mind) and I'm old enough to know a banana tree doesn't produce oranges (out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks). If you don't like what others see coming from you, that's a "you" problem and you are the only one who can do something about it. I can't imagine what it's like to view the world through a monochromatic prism and harbor hatred and animosity for others who are different from me, blaming them for my unhappiness... all the while proclaiming to be the exact opposite. The word for that is delusional and it's really nothing to celebrate, it's to be pitied. Somehow, I doubt you'll entertain the possibility of that scenario - even though it's on full display for everyone here to see - and that perhaps some self-reflection and possibly a change of heart might be beneficial.

Here's hoping you have a better day than you deserve... because I'm not sure you'd enjoy the one you truly deserve.
