I was one of the few fans in the stands. There is no depth on this team. The starters will get worn down. Carmody was impressive along with a double double from Jasmyn. The rebounding is much improved but 3 point shooting was lacking. But they have to start somewhere and the coaches will get us on the right path.

Surprised to see the Walton sisters were not in the box score. They were two of their highest rated recruits in recent years. Xamiya started a good number games last year.

The question here is how good is Milwaukee? Neither team had more than a 6 point lead, and the 'Cats won it in the 4th quarter. So, we'll see as the season moves along.

Neither of them were dressed for the game. Not sure if they are injured. There was no mention about them.

Watched part of the Xavier game last night. Lost 91-78. Xavier had great shooters obviously and won a lot of one on ones. Have a Chinese first year player that was selected high in the WNBA draft plus a lot of international players. This is their coach's fourth year and although her record isn't good she seems to have brought in a lot of talent this year.

I was impressed by NU's athleticism compared to last year. They don't have the big dawg bodies but decent length otherwise. They definitely are playing with more enthusiasm and confidence than last year and look like they have a plan. They don't have a lot of depth and I think part of the reason Xavier pulled away is they wore down. I listened to Coach Berube's post game and I think she will be good as she works through what Coach Joe left.

I agree. NU had some significant leads in this one, but ultimately got worn down late in the game.

Is there an issue here? The older Walton undoubtedly was looking to start but Coach Berube brought in Carmody. There definitely is a need for meaningful minutes off the bench. Coach suggested she would be back and would be a help. I may have missed it but it wasn't crystal clear from the press conference that Walton was injured.

Apparently Xamiya is expected to contribute but is out for now. This article makes some reference to it.

I watched her post-game presser as well, and she really needs help with public speaking. She is the least impressive coach I've heard at NU currently. Hopefully she is better with her team and with recruits, but definitely not a polished presence behind the mic.

She speaks like a real coach and doesn't use all the standard nothing for the media and public. I like that. Interesting that she isn't more vanilla given her time at Princeton. I think she was impressed with Xavier's skills. Didn't use being tired as an excuse. As I understand it she has been a good recruiter. Excellent? Remains to be seen.

Apparently you haven't heard Coach Fuchs in a post game. Our recent national champ award winning coach.
