Just wait. The media will get their hands on that story eventually. It was a pro abolitionist song back when it was written but just looking at the lyrics it reads like a romanticism of slavery. Doesn’t help that we had to change the lyrics 35 years ago to get rid of a racial slur.

not trying to make this political really. I love the song. But with this Rupp news I’m just counting the days till we lose our state song.

Honestly can't believe it as survived this long.I thought I was a reasonable middle of the road
person.I have always treated everyone the way I would want to be treated as long as they allow
me to do so.I am at the point that all I want is to be left alone and not blamed or accused of
being part of something I had nothing to do with or no role in.History is what it is,hopefully
we have learned valuable lessons and won't repeat the mistakes that have already been made.

The protests, riots and vandalism have done nothing but to drive the wedge deeper into the soul
of the country when in truth we were making progress toward extracting it..All lives matter.what
we do to each other matters,Everyone's rights and liberties matter. When the lives and property of
people who have not harmed anyone or done anything other than try to mind their own business
they can be driven to do things they would rather not do.Are we coming to that?
