See the link below. From the article:

”UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State has been ranked first in the nation in faculty Fulbright Scholar awards by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, with 12 faculty members offered Fulbright awards for academic year 2023-24. Penn State also is listed among the top-producing institutions for Fulbrights in STEM fields.

This is the second year in a row and the third time in the last five years that Penn State has been the No. 1 producer of Fulbright Scholars, with the University also achieving this status in 2019 and 2022.

“The Faculty Fulbright program is a vital and vibrant part of Penn State’s global engagement,” said Justin Schwartz, executive vice president and provost. “Being the No. 1 producer of Fulbright scholars two years in a row is a tremendous reflection of the excellence of our faculty and the dedication of those who support them. We’re grateful for the impact they make on their destination countries and for the wisdom and knowledge they bring on their return.””

Okay, took me some time but I found the list that Penn State tops - it's 'Scholar/Doctoral Institutions' - Penn State leads with 12, University of Florida is second with 11. Reviewing the list I noticed the public schools have way more awards in this category than private schools. Yale had 4, Harvard had 3. Columbia was the top Ivy with 5 - compare that to 'Arizona State Campus Immersion' who has 8. Then when you look at 'Students/Doctoral Institutions', it's all privates/Ivies at the top (Georgetown, Harvard, Brown, Yale, Northwestern, Penn, Columbia, etc.). Georgetown has 40. Penn State had 5. That's fewer than Pitt (10), Alabama (14), Delaware (11), and WVU (7) (and a bunch of other peer schools). So, PSU = Smart Faculty, 'Meh' Students? Or am I reading this wrong?

Don’t worry. A few will be along shortly to clarify it for us. Everybody sucks. Faculty, students, food services, parking services, campus police, University Health Services, Hershey Medical Center, current BOT, past BOT, future BOT, big donors, small donors, non donors, Franklin, Sanderson (he’s only won 10 of the last 12 National Championships. If we are only satisfied with that then we should stick with him. 🙄). They all suck. Anything with the Penn State affiliation…sucks. You’ll see. The Debbie Downers will be all over this.

We’re half Fulbright crew on here, and half Emptybright.
