“ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Three months since construction began on their new stadium, the Buffalo Bills are already facing a potential cash crunch with the latest projections having the team on the hook for as much as $300 million in cost overruns, according to multiple reports.

What was initially estimated to cost $1.4 billion in March 2022, and increased to $1.54 billion months later, is now projected to have jumped to $1.65 billion and approaching $1.7 billion, the reports said.”

The Bills need Sandy as project manager.

You're a bunch of a$$'s .... the new projection cost is correct.
My son's in the construction/bridge business, I was complaining about the bourbon prices being out of control.....He said, dad, the construction industry costs have accelerated to 20% and more.

Ya see, sounds about right.

The plural of "***" is "asses."

Yo, BWI, time to pony up for better censorship software, but don't think hitting Pegula up for a donation is advisable at this point.

Thanks, this will be the last out-burst from me.
I apologize to the posters.

This projection was done in March 2022 so they should have known the cost of material and labor and that costs already jumped by at least 20 percent if not more. What did they use in their projection 2019 costs?

As much of that increase is labor costs, it will certainly be a nice boost to the local economy.

LionJam-what is now at the site of the old RFK Stadium? Is there good public transportation to the RFK site?Several years ago I went to a Penn State (vs. Indiana) game at the current Redskins stadium. I liked the stadium but it was in the middle of no where -no public transportation available. Curious what new owner will do to rebrand the team since the era of the prior disastrous owner is over!! And NFL is glad Snyder is gone without having to go to Court or to vote him out!!

Yeah, we have seen 20% or more. The problem with doing projections (as you well know Step) is that it's trying to hit a moving target. You can project all you want, but only at the time you need the labor/materials/equipment will you know actual costs.

RFK is still standing but is now a rusted hulk. I had many happy afternoons there. Yeah, it’s very convenient to Metro, a stop right outside, unlike Fed Ex Field.

The Bills organization has no choice. That money is not coming from Pegula‘s bank account.
He owns the team outright, so it's just a matter of out of which of his pockets it's coming. And somehow I doubt that the "Bills organization" has $300mm of cash laying around.
