Early 2nd quarter - ND leads USC 10 - 3. USC's defense looks a bit confused and a step behind against Notre Dame's offense.

Vellieux with a nice TV pass for Pitt. They’re down 14 seven in the second quarter.

Hope he plays well but also hope they lose by 30 points.
CV looking better that Jurk. A few drops have made his stats look worse than they should be.

Halftime - 24 - 6 ND ahead of USC. Bizarre ending to first half as ND tackled the QB causing him to fumble, but refs said that ND called a time-out? meaning there was two seconds placed back on the clock, enabling USC to kick a FG. USC qb threw three INT's in first half

It looked as if the ND players were celebrating the fumble and weren’t able to get back to the line of scrimmage.

The refs said it because they did

46-yard TD by an open nd receiver, just after one of the announcers said that usc’s defense had played well in the second half.

usc’s defense is worse than dog sh|t.
Offense too. It’s one game, but Williams doesn’t look like a #1 overall pick. No dynamism at all and he’s just indecisive back there.

Props to Al Golden. Who’d thunk he’d make a decent DC. He had a good game plan tonight.

Mark my words - this week some idiot, probably at ESPiN, will say Notre Lame has an outside chance at the playoff, and deserves to be a Top 10 team. Nevermind the loss to Louisville looks even worse now, they should’ve lost to Duke, and the Suckeyes only beat them because the brilliant people at Notre Lame can’t count to 11.

Iowa may not lose another game and waltz into the B10 championship game with a 10-1 record. They have Minn. Ill, Neb, RU, and NW left. I thought that Wisconsin would be their downfall but they were terrible today at home and Iowa’s defense is winning games for them. We might have to shut them out again.

Since we're just fans and don't have to worry about looking ahead, it's interesting to think about a possible rematch with Iowa. That would be terrible from a Penn State perspective. For one, it would be a rematch. Not interested. And two, there is little chance we could duplicate the absolute defensive domination we had in the first game. That would be a constant talking point during the game. "Look what Iowa's able to do tonight versus what they couldn't do against Penn State back in September." And if we would be looking for a bump from the B1G Championship Game in terms of a playoff berth, a rematch with Iowa would be the worst idea possible for us.

Actually I believe Iowa winning is good for Penn State. If PSU, OSU and UM all finish 11-1 by losing to one another, the 5th tie breaker for Division champ is record of non-divisional opponents. As neither OSU or UM play Iowa, this is beneficial to PSU.
