If you’re going to pay NIL money it should be paid for performance only. This will eliminate these kids getting money and then sit or leave. The majority of the players money should come after the season and after the portal closes and if said player leaves he gets nothing… Everyone involved in college athletics is making boat loads for money but yet they want the fans to pony up and pay for these kids while they continue to line their pockets full of cash. If I’m going to donate money to a good cause it’s will be to help children not a damn football player

Lets see if we can get a donation train going for Garnet Trust!! If everyone can give just $10 today and keep it going. Even a small donation will go a long way when all of us get together!!

It's in Beamer's direct interest to invest in his own success. He's paid $6MM/year. Let him put $1MM where is big mouth his. He stands to gain far more than me.

I'm sure he would if he could but schools and coaches aren't allowed to contribute to NIL collectives...so its up to us! Almost at the $1million goal... no thanks to some of yall.

lol, it's up to us. My word, how gullible are some people?

It's like global warming. Create a crisis then convince people "but YOU can make a difference if you ____________."

There is a 0% chance I'd ever give a single penny towards NIL. If I had all of Elon Musk's and Jeff Bezos' money, I wouldn't give one dollar towards NIL.

That said, hypothetically, if I were to ever have considered it, any chances were squashed by seeing how Antwane scammed the system this year and the reaction to it..."We know Antwane scammed us out of NIL money, but the solution is to give us MORE!"

Universities and the NCAA attempting to push player funding on the fans is the equivalent of corporations pushing the responsibility of "cleaning up the environment" on consumers. They made a fortune off their respective products and continue to do so today. Put it in the budget.

And some fans are gobbling it up, hook, line and sinker. They thrive on the "we can REALLY make an impact!" angle.

In the Southwest Conference we used to give Trans Ams out. That was the early 80s. Bag men. It’s just more public. And the SEC is known to go beyond that. Even JUCO basketball players got cash money in the 80s in Texas.

I can't think of any other industry where fans/consumers are asked to help pay the salaries of the workers and then have to turn around and pay for the product/service as well. I can't think of any other scenario where fans/consumers would even consider such an absurd notion.

But, somehow, some folks seem to think it makes perfect sense with college football. Some even present it as a duty.

Just absurd.

It is the scam to end all scams. "Just give us more money and we can compete for championships!!!" It's a total con, but many are buying it hook, line and sinker.
Worse than that, you're paying them so they can audition for their next gig, where they will get paid even more.

Son: “Hey dad, can you spot me $20.00 so that I can go to the movies with my friends?”

Dad: “I’d love to son but you know I’ve got to send it to that WR at Carolina. He might transfer if I don’t.”

Imagine paying a monthly subscription to Netflix and then being asked to send money directly to the studios so they could pay the actors.

We get SEC TV money from ESPN. And it's about to get a big boost. Why can't the the Athletic Department fund GT while their sentimental hearts beat wildly?

And no one benefits more from all this than the overpaid coaches with their ridiculously high salaries. That means ALL the coaches from the Head Coach on down. Have them earmark part of their salaries to GT. Previous players made it through without GT and the like. Today's players can too.

Overpaid coaches? They are charging what the market will bear. One can actually argue that assistant coaches are underpaid.

Question for those that give money to these players? What are you expecting in return and if that doesn’t happen then what’s your next move, give more?

Football programs are like politicians, the solution to every problem is for them to get more of your money.
