Because the officials are idiots and lazy. They just looked at the shot clock instead of actually counting. They failed to realize that UF knocked the ball out of bounds and we inbounded with 28 seconds on the shot clock. If they wanted to use the shot clock instead of counting they should have been looking for 18 on the clock. But hey, math is hard.....with 1:15 left in the game, we inbound the ball and get called for a 10 second violation at 1:07. How does that work? The shot clock did hit 20 but how?

The 10-second backcourt count resets except when:
- Defender causes the ball to go out of bounds;
- Offense retains possession on a held ball; or
- A technical foul is called on the offensive team.
Just another example of home cooking at Rupp Arena. I don't see many calls like this against other Blue bloods?
That may be it. I know Gabriel got a rebound. Don't remember if he was fouled or it was just knocked oob. Replay is on SEC channel now. I'll check.Refresh my memory on exactly what happened. Did UK get the rebound and Florida knock the ball out? If that's the case, then the count does not reset. That is a recent change.
It is just an example of head scratching calls we seem to get at home. They shot 30+ three pointers. UK was driving.....did you watch the game?UK had 27 FT attempts, Florida had 6; 22 fouls for UF, 13 for UK....tell me more about how the refs weren't fair to UK.
At one point in the game the game clock was not started until Arkansas entered their side of the court and they dribbled from around the elbow. I believe it was in the last 3 minutes of the game.
Yesterday Florida played defense with its hands. Lots of fouls.UK had 27 FT attempts, Florida had 6; 22 fouls for UF, 13 for UK....tell me more about how the refs weren't fair to UK.
As was state to the UF homer with many digits in his name you don't get many fouls called from 30 3s and uncontested layups. Their were dozens of over the back and pushes that could have been called on the gators. Fouls are subjective calls. A 10 second call late in the game is basic counting. I don't believe there was anyone watching that game thought a 10 second would be called or should have been called. It shocked everyone.UK had 27 FT attempts, Florida had 6; 22 fouls for UF, 13 for UK....tell me more about how the refs weren't fair to UK.
I was talking with my brother when I was typing and he lives in Arkansas. I meant Florida.Arkansas?
A review would have only confirmed they got the call right.I thought out of bounds and timing issues were reviewable in the last 2 min? Not sure how a team challenges that though .
There's a lot of ignorance of rules sitting in the stands (and on Rupp's Rafters). And sometimes it is intentional, like in this thread when the complainers ignore (root of ignorance) your correction by quoting the rule. They got the call right.http://www.referee.com/basketball-2015-16-mens-basketball-rules-changes/

That was it. Gabriel got the rebound and uf knock it out. So they only had 8 seconds to get it over. Regardless, Monk shoulda seen the shot clock.Refresh my memory on exactly what happened. I'm not sure Briscoe's and Monk's reactions is an accurate barometer. It was a bogus 10 second call. Hence, Monk and Briscoe's reaction. These guys aren't perfect, but they have played enough basketball with a 10-second rule that it's pretty easy to estimate when that time passes. They both knew right away they got shorted. Monk was even pointing at the scoreboard, asking the head ref to review it.

But the poster above got it right. Gabriel got the rebound, so the clock reset to 30. The Florida player knocked it out at 28. So we only had 8 seconds to get it over. The refs got it right. Spit spit spit.Monk immediately told the ref to look up at the big board. They shorted the clock. It's hard to see because CBS' ****** broadcast was too busy showing a stupid replay instead of the live game, but it appeared the shot clock started at 28 or 27.
BS!!Very pro uk officials yesterday.

I agree. I thought the shot clock should have reset (it did not). After watching a replay and reading the rule, the call was correct. We only had 8 seconds to get the ball across. WG used up 2 of our 10 seconds.A review would have only confirmed they got the call right.
Nah. Plus 21 in free throws.
Which of those 21 was wrong? This was covered to death. UK pounded the ball inside and drove to the basket. UF settled for 20 foot shots. There should have been a 21 FT advantage. If UF didn't like that stop chucking 3's.Nah. Plus 21 in free throws.
Free throw disparity if all y'all point to when we play a road game. We always talk about Kansas free throw disparities when they play at home.Which of those 21 was wrong? This was covered to death.
