That's why the 1A title is coming west again. Most seasons the west championship is the state championship game.
Gates County and Rosewood probably better than any of those three based on results so far
Maybe so. They are all weak. When I saw North Edgecombe play Tarboro - their starters were probably bigger than Tarboro. They just don’t have any depth.
I heard a month or so ago that Mount Airy may be down close to 1A this year. They had an ADM of 542 last year but had a large graduating class I think was the reason plus Millennium Charter Academy across town may get a few students. Anyone heard anything in the last few weeks.2008 & 2009 they dropped to small 1A and won the State Championship in 2008 and lost by 1 point in OT in 2009.

There is a lot of trophy hunters in the west.
You can probably call anyone that plays a down in the playoffs a “ trophy hunter” if that’s not your teams goal you may want to look at a different game to play..
It’s not like schools can control how many students they have each year. I’ve never understood the “playing down” statement. You play where your numbers align. That’s why they have different divisions.

Vikes I agree 100% I’m not sure about the term “ playing down “ im sure some people ( a coach )think they could and can influence the cut line but it’s impossible. I do wish they would give a team the option to play up if they are playoffs eligible. Example, in 2014 I think Robbinsville or Murphy could have won the 1AA west. I’m not trying to slight Starmount in any way but Murphy could have won the 1aa that year. Last Year the same with Mitchell in 1aa if given the option. I know it would be a mess for the bracket committee but it’s a thought.

I’ve heard our numbers are close to the last few years or lower and we should be 1a. I guess we will keep everyone guessing until the very end. Either way it’s a hard row to hoe. Murphy and Robbinsville or Swain and East Surry and probably Polk. Tough sandwich to eat no matter what you put on it.

Bk isnt quite as bad with the early college talk these days, he still gets his jabs in but it's not as overboard as it use to be. But I'll damned if mbulld (aka rville20) doesn't try to ruin good thread discussions with that mess, last year it was unbearable.
It depends on the cut line. Depending on who goes 1A and 1AA might be worth keeping an eye on Elkin in the small. Coming off a big win over a solid Starmount team.

I'd say that only 10% of 1a threads turn into EC talk now days and half of that isn't me. Dont let facts get in your way though. Go ahead and lie and say it's every thread. I could see if it was half or more and you said EVERY thread but to say that when its 10% is just liberal logic. Its in writing it can be proven.

I don’t think anybody in this area will make much noise in the playoffs except ES and it won’t make any difference if they are in 1a or 1aa.
