1AA West Playoff Projections

Here is a PROJECTION of the 1AA western field, so don’t take anything personal. Still some big games left the last two weeks of the season so things could change. In my projection I have several teams on a seed line based on winning or losing and finishing as a conference champion or the #2 seed out of their respective conference. Several scenarios are possible and there are some games these last two weeks that will have a major bearing on seeds.

Robbinsville vs Swain ( Battle for 2 Seed)

Elkin vs East Wilkes ( EW win locks up #1 seed in 1A portion of their split conference)

East Surry vs Mt Airy ( winner takes #1 with loser being # 2)

Bessemer City needs to win out To lock up the #2

Regardless of how things shake out, seeds 1-6 is going to be a murders row in the West. Good luck to everyone these last couple of weeks. Stay healthy and finish strong.

Community School of Davidson will be 1AA this year. They will also beat Bessemer and Pine Lake to finish year at 7-4. Anyone they play better score a lot of points. QB throws for 4-6 TD’s a game.

Any idea what Community School of Davidson’s ADM is? I think cutoff will be around 510-515.

I dont agree with it, not with North Stanly losing to East Rowan. NW Cabburus lose is excusable as they would probably beat any 1A team besides Tarboro, but the East Rowan loss is not a very good one.

I think the cut off will be higher then 490-495. I am guessing 510-515. If your right with your cutoff and MIC and CSOD go big, then more the North Stanly may have to go East.

There is no way to get enough teams to fill 24 team bracket it is going to have to fall below 500 unless once again we don’t us maxprep rankings and put 2 win teams in

Mitchell had a large freshman class, but also graduated a big senior class. Their numbers should be up, but not by much. I'm thinking right around 500.

Murphy is the smallest in my projection right now and they were at 515 last year. I see a strong possibility of more less then stellar records making it into the 1A field as at large bids. Once the ADM’s come out then things may become more clear.

The eighth grade class coming in was really small I think around 80 kids

There is a good chance that Mountain Island could go big. They have steadily increased their enrollment every year. They were the 2nd biggest team in 1a last year @ 491.

NCHSAA uses the adjusted rankings for playoff seeding though, not Maxpreps. There will be an update for the adjusted rankings today on the NCHSAA website, where I suspect Mt Airy will still be ranked ahead of North Stanly.

Whoa, why are people hating so much on north stanly this year, I know history isn't on their side, but if they play in the west for the playoffs, I believe they can make it to championship.

Any of the top 6 seeds in the West are capable of winning the bracket. It’s going to be a slobber knocker unless the state moves teams up/down or East/west.
