Is pitching for Auburn in the first round of the SEC Softball Tournament. I think she was 20-9, after being a marginal relief pitcher for OU's last two teams. All this, despite having a catcher who cannot throw the ball back to her after any pitch. Steve Sax Syndrome. Interestingly, she can throw the ball to the bases just fine, just not accurately or at least consistently back to the pitcher after a pitch. I don't know if I've heard of that before. Maybe it was why, or at least a big reason why, Auburn finished last in the conference. But the talk is that they'll still make the NCAA tournament. Seriously. But now, Mizzou's season is over because they're disqualified, because they finished under .500 overall.

I know a lot of those here don't care about softball, except for the Sooners, but I'm going to watch most of the SEC tourney games. I'd love it if Was Eagle beat Bama, this time.

First round results on the first day: Georgia, who is hosting the whole tournament run-ruled Kentucky 8-0 in game 1. Mizzoou's season ended, getting shut out by Mississippi, 1-0. Alabama just beat Auburn, 3-2. as Guerin drops to 20-10l

We may end up wishing she was still in Norman, because apparently Sophia Bordi isn’t with the team & hasn’t been for a month or so.

I think Patty just made that public yesterday, or whenever the pre-conference tournament presser was. She may be keeping up with classes online, but otherwise she won't be back.

Bordi hasn't played all year and wasn't going to.
Bordi will be back.
We have 2 other pitchers coming in next year and you can bet Patty will grab at least one more in the portal.
Things are fine.

That’s the kind of quirky, unpredictable sports drama that makes tournaments fun—poor throwing chemistry behind the plate, a team underperforming in conference but still sneaking into the big dance, and upsets you’d never bet on. If you’re riding that energy into watching the SEC tourney, you might also enjoy catching football and basketball upsets and live coverage over at viprowus.com.

Whether it’s late-game heroics in basketball or underdog runs in football, viprowus.com ties the same passion and real-time excitement you’re feeling for softball into broader sports coverage—keeping you locked into every play and storyline.

That’s an interesting breakdown of the SEC Softball Tournament—it shows how individual player performance and unique challenges, like the “Steve Sax Syndrome” you mentioned, can really influence a team’s season. Auburn’s push despite setbacks, and the dynamics of teams like Mizzou or Bama, highlight how much strategy and adaptability matter in college sports.

From a broader perspective, this also connects to business and technology trends in sports. Data analytics, player performance tracking, and even mental conditioning tools are increasingly shaping how teams approach competition. What happens on the field is now often tied to innovations happening off it.
