Am I seeing things or do we have back-to-back bye weeks on October 8th and 15th? Has that ever happened before?

Pretty sure the Indiana game will get pushed back to one of those weeks to accommodate return travel from the Ireland game.

Indiana has an open date on 10/15, so the game could go there, but unless other changes were made to their schedule they would then effectively have no bye week, as they would get the first weekend off and then play every weekend the rest of the season. Not sure they'd be too happy about that.

The conference schedule is often not finalized until January or February. I suspect you’ll see that tweaked for the final release as well.

I've been banging the drum to reschedule IU as soon as NU announced they would be the first team to stay two nights after the game to do historical and cultural stuff. It made no sense with a pending conference game.

IU will be correct to protest that turning Week 1 into their bye is a unilateral sacrifice on their part. B1G probably indemnifies them for any costs to move their Week 2-3 buy games against Idaho and Western Kentucky.

Some evidence starting to emerge that the B1G schedule will not remain as it currently appears (PSU deleted the update, but unlikely it came out of thin air).

Awesome. I guess the B1G office heard you banging your drum. Thanks for your efforts.

A revised 2022 Big Ten schedule comes out tomorrow. I guess we drop Ohio State and pick up Penn St.
EDIT: Turns out we play them both..

I hope they don’t Swap Indians for Penn St. I would rather have the Cats play jet lagged (probably no different than recent history dictates.) Also keep the two week bye for the last half of the season.

According to NUsports we play Wisconsin on Oct. 8th (presumably Homecoming) and still have a bye on the 15th.

Generally, Indians play Cricket, not FB

Edit, here's the schedule release

To be totally honest, there's a little piece of me that likes having Fitz go up against the Franklins, Harbaughs, Flecks of the world - especially when he might be digging his heels in on questionable decision-making. The threat of losing to these men MUST drive him insane and must compel him to be a little more open-minded about what it takes to win.

I look forward to that with bad breath
