I signed up to volunteer. Of course I won’t hear anything back until 2023…

Just hope the weather is better than when I went last time

I’ve played this course a few times. Love to see the pros play the same holes. I will plan on being part of the gallery.

In 96 my family and I went to a practice round and then Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I followed Fred couples and Ernie els all day. Sunday I just wandered around.

And I didn’t know what the playoff rules were so I ran and got a front row seat to the 2nd hole of the playoff. And mark brooks won on the first. I was 14 and dumb

Followed Rory and Phil in 2014 when Rory won, was a fantastic event, except for the rain, for which I blame/thank God. God willing, I will be there in 2024 as well.

Why there? Because the PGA owns the course? Is it truly worthy of hosting a major? Serious replies only.

It's had some iconic moments in its brief time hosting the PGA and Ryder Cup. For that alone, I like that the PGA continues to come back to it.

Yea it’s worthy of a major. It’s hosted the PGA championship 3 times and the Ryder Cup.

I would answer the previous question this way, I have personally played four courses that have hosted majors. Erin Hills, Whistling Straits, Ocean Course and Valhalla. It would rank 4th of those on my list, and Valhalla is not one of my favorite courses, to be honest. But that is just solely on the golf course itself.

However, due to the way it was built, it is a great venue to host big events, easily accessible, can accomodate large crowds plus corporate amenities. Louisville always supports the hell out of the events held there. And of course, the fact that the PGA owns it is a huge point in its favor. So, it is at least as good as Chambers Bay, and some of the other courses that the Open and PGA have been held.

the only pro course I've ever played was Perdido Bay in Pensacola. And it has been a LONG time since it hosted.
