Any chance Arenas doesn’t follow his dad’s footsteps to Arizona? I watched this video for Ariza, but fell in love with how smooth Arenas shoots and handles the ball. If we got both in 26, I would be ecstatic. Ariza seems to need a little more polishing than Arenas.

I hope Arenas isn't as crazy as his father.

If you recall, Gilbert took a gun to a Wizard practice because he and a teammate were having issues. As a joke he defecated in one of his teammate's shoes.
Wow, I forgot about that. That is crazy!

Hope his son has his head on straight. He looks good in that video, even though it is just highlights.

I have to admit from what I have been reading recently about Gilbert it seems that he isn't the same crazy guy that he once was. I doubt very seriously if his son is like Gilbert used to be.

I just hope he isn’t already affiliated with another shoe company or something. The deal with Peterson this year sucked.

I just assume all legacy kids will follow their pops footsteps if offered by the same school. There's been cases where this didn't happen (Nolan Smith, Devon Booker, Andrew Wiggins, etc.) but Arizona is a legit program, unlike Florida State (Wiggins) and Missouri (Booker).

If Arenas loves Arizona the same same Carlos Boozer loves Duke, his son will be an Arizona Wildcat. If I'm Pope, I gauge that as quickly as possible to see if this recruitment is really worth the time and resources.

I could be wrong but I would say ge gauged that before he extended the offer, maybe not but I'm also not worried about Pope chasing a player we have no chance at landing.

Did Pope offer Arenas? If so, I am pumped. He and McCoy Jr look special. I hope we get Kinney, because he is from Newport, but would love to have either of these guys as the SG. However, if I am being honest Arenas stroke and demeanor really look like they would be a match made in heaven for Pope’s offense.

Yeah I saw an article 3 or 4 days ago that said we had offered him.

I'm sure he's matured...I mean, who hasn't taken a crap in a teammate's shoe in a moment of youthful indescretion and locker room hijinks?

Wow. Would love to have him. From the little tape I have watched, he is a very good shooter/scorer. Seems to try to defend in the little you get to see of that end. Good athlete, maybe not great. Better athlete than Ariza. Maybe Arenas is a year older, if he is reclassifying. He is thin, but did not appear to be weak. Got to his shots and drives to the lane in control with head up. Very nice step back three.

My guess is they have another school in mind though. It might be a hard sell with both Acaden and Jasper on board. Having said that. He looks as ready at the 2 as either Acaden or Jasper and way smoother than Collin, who seems to be on the cusp of getting it figured out.
