Wait.....other teams are sending ranked wrestlers that could actually beat us?? F*** that.......we aren't gonna risk our records and seeds. We're only sending guys that are outside AA ranking and need wins or are bench players. We started this tournament to benefit US.....errr.....salute soldiers. Yeah.....the real Iowa way! It isn't our fault that other teams started sending highly ranked wrestlers that threaten our plans. @ 174 you got #9 Wask, #11 Steed and # 16 as well. Kennedy...Go fishing. , #6 Bennett Berge and #7 Joey Novak @ 197? Endene.....take the weekend off. #8 Christian Carroll at HWT.?.....Kueter....you need a rest. #2 Aiden Sinclair @ 184? Ferrari.....you need to take up hunting....it's duck season. Enjoy the hunt. We created this tournament for us TO WIN...not for us to COMPETE.

Wondering if the opposite isn't true -- that the other teams aren't sending anybody good, so Brands said why bother. (Yes, I'm being charitable.)

. Actually...based on what I have read today.....it may very well be a bit of both. Supposedly Carroll and Sinclair are going and Berge will be there if healthy. Novak is questionable. We shall see.

OK, with Iowa's backups at an off-campus arena, ticket sales might be less than the number of coaches present.
Brands doesn't seem to play the games as much as others. While not the most tactical coach ever, he does like to wrestle. His schedule shows this. However, there goes the tactical side of him because he's inconsistent.

Great 197 hope Ludington takes his 2nd loss of the day to Robert Platt of UNC. Lost 6-1 earlier to Joey Novak who rode him for 3+ minutes
