Jayden James is the #1 seed at 168. He should cruise to a title

178 is a super deep weight. Should be the most competitive weight. Super tough kids all the way to 10th seed. Also has the #1 and #2 kids in the country with Jeter and Singer. Pretty sure they have split their last 2 meetings. Hamiti is the #10 seed and has been wrestling really well. Carini, Ontiveros, Fernandez, and Grace are all CA hammers. Should be fun to watch

Fargo champ Noah Larios is the 12 seed at HWT. That's not some goofy Powerade seed -- he's an in-state guy and Tirapelle knows what he's doing.

Even though he once said he wanted to come to PSU, that ship has probably sailed.

It is too bad Sammy Sanchez isn't wrestling. I am wondering if he is injured. I checked around on the internet but couldn't find out anything on his current status.

PS The last time I was there, they were serving tri tip sandwiches at the snack counter. After the finals, Kerri Nevills told me to help myself to the leftovers and there were plenty left. I didn’t want to look like a pig so I only took 3 of them. I didn’t eat any until I got to my car. They were so good I wished that I had grabbed as many as I could carry! Oh well, next time.

How good can James really be? After all, we don’t see posts of his alarm clock showing 5:30 every day as well as any videos of him flipping tires
It’s funny watching him walk out on the mat, in between periods and at breaks in the action. He walks around like he is waiting for the bus.

And when the whistle blows he is a terror.

#1 Jeter and #2 Singer both lose in the semis. Jeter goes down to Ontiveros and Singer to Carini. Ontiveros was #6 on Flo and Carini isn’t ranked in the newest rankings for some reason. He was #7 in the Dec 15th edition though. Ontiveros is headed to Oklahoma and Carini to VaTech

This match was a great example of Jayden's calm demeanor. The Clovis kid was pretty physical with him and even was dinged for Unsportsmanlike Conduct (where the mystery point came from when the score had been 6-2). After the Unsportsmanlike Conduct call Jayden came back to center, voluntarily shook his opponent's hand, proceeded to quickly take him down and eventually got the tech in short order. His personality fits perfectly with the Penn State mindset.

Jayden just rolled through his bracket. And it wasn't like his Finals opponent isn't good. He is a Stanford commit who is ranked #18 at 175. Jayden only spent 13:13 in total on the mat in his five matches. Of his three matches where he didn't get a pin, he outscored his opponents 62-12. For the tournament he went Fall 0:57, Fall 1:16, TF 20-5 in 3:04, TF 24-5 in 3:44, and TF 18-2 in 4:22 in the Finals.
