Got some transition points there. I'm a BIG fan of transition points, in principle.
We may not be a great team. They make some silly mistakes but they are fun to root for!

Wow, that looked like a good rebound, to me. The Pitt guy didn't look like he wanted the rebound as much as Kopp, who went in there and grabbed it.

For us to win, we must hit open threes. Had plenty of them tonight and just couldn't...It would help if two of our upper classmen, Turner and Gaines would actually show up in the scorebook. Nance had a bad tournament and they took Young out of the game. That was a winnable game with them starting 1-for-17 from three, but you've got to put the ball in the basket!
Gaines and Turner can’t go 0-10 and expect the Cats to win. Not sure why they have lost their aggression to the hole.
Jones and Boo showed us good things we hadn't seen before. We'll see other teams try to take Spencer out of the offense. Surprised we didn't see Greer -what's up with that?

They had a chance at the end, which is better than I thought they’d have against a physical Pitt team. Spencer’s foul trouble really hurt us, as did 60%FT shooters on Pitt channeling Rick Barry. Gaines and Turner needed to pick up the slack and failed to do so. Good to see Boo active, and I love Nance’s growing confidence but man when he missed a three, it’s ugly. Speaking of threes, we’ve gotta do a better job of getting Koop and Beran open looks. Those guys can SHOOT.
I think this was a good matchup for them to have right now. Pitt plays tough physical defense like they’ll see in the Big 10. Didn’t get enough shots to fall, and Pitt started hitting 3’s which they hadn’t all season until late in this game.
Happy nobody got hurt on that floor that they kept having to wipe up the condensation on the whole tournament!

On defense, we seem to give up a lot of baskets, offensive rebounds or fouls in the last 3 seconds of the shot clock. So frustrating.
