On Friday, Tulsa coaches added to an already stellar 2019 class with the commitment of 6-foot-11 big man Emmanuel Ugboh of Iowa Western Community College. Originally from Nigeria, he chose Tulsa over offers from Arizona, Kansas State, UConn, Ole Miss, Pitt, Miami, Rutgers, Missouri State, Kent State and others.

Going to say that a lot with him. Hopefully his dunk mentality will run off on Igbanu. Guy throws it down whenever he is close.

Going to be interesting to see how they combine him with the other two post players, Horne and Rachal.

Glad to see our depth problems at center solved! Igbanu and Ugboh Immediately makes it one of our stronger positions now.

I mean other than a few games his freshman year where he looked like KJ in Michael Ruffin’s body, he was just not . . . someone we talk about on here. I can’t remember a career quite like that at any other time ever.

Dude went Benjamin Button on us. Bigs who put up 20+ in back-to-back games are unicorns. Wright did it as a freshman and then never scored more than 18 in a single game the rest of his career.

I expect Ugboh to spell Igbanu initially but I’m hoping that against teams with a big front line we see Ugboh at the 5, Igbanu at the 4 and Horne at the 3.

Jackson and Joiner make that a dangerous line up.

Stick Igbanu on the same side as Horne, Ugboh off side. Run a little action to the wing with Joiner so you get Jackson to the middle and see what his drive creates. Use Horne on the wing and run a little pick and roll two man game with Igbanu and Ugboh already in off side rebounding. Trade Jackson for Rachal and go real big with Horne your main outside threat.

Quite a bit more to do just in adding a quality big man. Maybe this teams Brandon Kurtz?

If Haith he plays them outta position I'll be chapped. I'm tired of having guys play one up from their position and be handicapped and playing below the level they were capable of playing. Happened to Smith, Igbanu. Horne, Joiner, & Etou. And that's just recently. I'm tired of not having a complete roster. This one seems like it will be complete, especially if Embery gets that waiver.

Now that Manny is on board, I’m interested in learning more about his background. When did he move to the US? How long has he been playing basketball? Did he grow up playing soccer as his primary sport? Seems like international big guys with a soccer background always have good footwork.

And Jeffries... (at least on defense)

Still think we need someone who can shoot besides just Horne.

UCONN fan that says they can’t recruit because they have to play in Tulsa is going to have trouble explaining why they just lost a recruit to Tulsa

I think you guys are a little too hard on TU_Bla. He is proud of the university, and proud of where he is from at the same time. That's not all bad. It's no worse than being proud of being from Tulsa.

It just makes it easy to give him a hard time. We all know he loves TU :flags:
