All of you that were hand wringing while we were 27% and still winning.....well we're 34% with a bullet now. 36-75 the last 4 games for 48%

I've said all along, as many have, if this team is in the 33%+ range that it is all it needs. If this keeps up we'll be upper 30's within the next few games.

this is the best shooting team Cal has had . Hell Ulis and Booker will be around 50% from 3 for thier UK careers i believe.

This team is a lot closer to 37% like the 2012 title team than the percentage they have showed due to that early season slump. On their better nights they are even like the 40% 2011 team from 3.

the difference is 2011 we had lamb and Miller who could make 3's and Liggins now and again. This year we have 5-6 players i feel comfortable taking them ,not including Willis since he doesn't play much. both twins , ulis , Booker , Towns and Lyles all are good shooters.

5 - 6?

If you open and don't shoot, i'll scream at you category: Booker and Ulis
You can take shots here and there: Twins
Take 1 shot per game from three: Lyles and Towns (But not someone i feel comfortable taking shots)

It's a bit unfair to lump Towns in with Lyles. Towns is 2/6 from three for 33%. Lyles is 3/21 for like 14%. If Towns shoots 15 more three's he is making more than one of them for sure.

No. Lyles is awful from three, has he even made more than a couple? As a matter of fact he hasn't shot any the last five games or so and he's better off for it. Town has made like 2 all year, and he's not going to be a 3 point threat, I don't even know where you're coming from on that one. We have Ullis, Booker, and Aaron. Ullis and Booker are consistent (Booker has been shooting incredible), Aaron is streaky, and Andrew seems to hit when he is open. So I have 3 players I'm comfortable with. The 2011 team had Brandon Knight, Lamb, and Miller so I would compare this year to that year. And Knight's ability to create his own shot was better than anyone on this team right now.

Towns is so money with his jumper much better at jumpers then in the post. wish he took many more. Lyles doesn't miss from 15 feet and wish he would shoot 3s more . Ulis and Booker as you said almost never miss. Aaron is money most of the time and Andrew always makes the ones i think he will miss and misses the ones i think he will make , Andrew is only one i don'twant shooting anytime he is open the rest IMO have the green light.

i'm really surprised that towns isnt used more on the perimeter. sure with towns inside it frees up WCS, but towns has the ability to beat his man off the dribble from 10-15 feet. his face up game would generate lots of fouls.

The defense has been there all season, but the offense needed work. We've turned around the outside shooting, but now we need to fix the inside part of the offense. The bigs are struggling to find their post moves. Towns has the half-hook, which he does ok with, but it's not all that consistent yet. Johnson is good off the glass, or from very close in, but is very iffy from outside 5 feet or so. Willie's offense is mostly dunks and putbacks. Doesn't have a jumper to speak of, but seems to be ok when he uses the glass inside 5-8 feet. Lyles has the least to work on in this area, IMO. He's money on the baseline jumper, and is good with putbacks and lobs.

Cal would do it he wasn't trying to build Towns into what the pros want out of thier center .It hurts our team at times but Cal is truly a player first coach and i can respect that. And its not like Towns is told not to shoot but he is needed down low more. lyles made alot 3's in the preseason and then missed a bunch early on but i think for his career he will be about a 35% from 3 which is good not great , similar to Andrew . Lyles though 15 footer is beautiful. He should never miss free throws but his attention wanes at times.
