Anyone have this caliber? Everything I’ve read says it’s like a 9mm magnum. I just got a Sig P320 that will shoot both 9mm and .357 Sig...trying to figure out the best way to configure it

In normal times. 357 Sig is silly. 9mm is the Wal-Mart of ammo. It works and it is great. It just isn't cool enough for some people.

Now with ammo hard as hell to get, people might go to other calibers like 357 Sig.

That said, I see absolutely no purpose for it. I'd stick with 9mm and learn what the hell I was doing with good training before reading a bunch of horseshit by internet ninjas.

I’m very experienced with firearms...just want to know if anyone has this caliber and what they think of it. All of my pistols are either 9mm or .45 ACP. I’m usually not one for boutique calibers

I'm not sure why the attention is not better spent on training. If there is some niche use for 357 Sig that I am not aware of, I fully understand that I'm an *******.

I can do both, right? I’m a gun guy...I train/shoot all the time. Not sure why you assume I’m not trained. Oh, and I was in the military, so I kinda know a little about guns.

I'm not criticizing you or your skills. I just have no understanding why the interest in 357. It was a concept that seemed interesting and then they made 9mm ammo better. So what's the point.

But this is America, so you do whatever you want and I will shut up now. My apologies.

I like the speed and added energy.....but if I were to go to a lesser circulated caliber (as in not 45, 40, 9) and were looking for greater punch it would be 10mm. 10mm Is one of the hardest hitting cartridge that still offers decent capacity in a package that’s not comical to carry and/or control.

It was good enough for Jack Wilson.

If you're shooting for sport, use what ever the hell you want. If you're shooting for survival, shoot the commonest calibers. 9mm, 45 acp, 223, 5.56. .22 for food. And 12 ga. You want ease of resupply. I try to get famiky to buy the same calibers so we can cross supply. The women get 380' s for self defense. Before the feminazi's start barking, they can shoot my 45's if they wish. They don't. I do have a 22 that I have tinkered with that they all LOVE, but they ain't getting that.
