I head Arizona was making a decent push late. Don't know if that is still the case but I'm going to assume Alabama until he announces elsewhere.

Pope has zero chance of landing an Alabama elite.

I don't think we had a choice to keep Cal, he wasn't getting it done, and his pride had enough of the Ky fans. But we do miss his recruiting for sure.

Mark must be fired at the end of the season. Coaches know why, it won’t deter them. In the off season bring in a coach that can’t be controlled by Mitch and have him get to work on these issues. It’s looking like right now UK administration doesn’t care if we lose or what the fans think. I guess that’s what it looks like when you sell the brand THAT YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BUILDING and there are half a billion reasons not to care. They know people are going to show up anyway.
We sat back and allowed Barnhart and an old president and this BOT to completely ruin UK basketball. Mitch has to go and so does Mark. It’s nothing to improve in all likelihood. You don’t go from losing every top recruit to signing them in 12 months lol. And at this point what do you think agents are going to do? “Mark you really need this guy, he’s worth a lot to you”. And they’re going to rape us which will set a precedent we can’t cover. Mark is done.

The elite recruits see Pope coming and it's the same reaction we get when we see a Jehovah's witness making their way to our front door on a Saturday morning.
Apparently Pope and staff are trying to negotiate deals to retain players for next season. What in the world is going on??!!! They have No clue!!!!
Not in Pope's communist Venezuelan styled "everyone gets to eat a dog" system. He will play Holt 23 to 25 minutes a game.

Aren’t you excited to bring back players on a team that might not even go over .500 this year? And it won’t be the half decent players, it’ll be the ones that should be kicked off midseason.
The JMI deal sucks and is hindering things, but Pope isn’t built for this. Sweet guy, but needs to be at a lower tier program. Pitino was the same guy who pushed for Ford or Pelphrey to get the job in 09, so we probably shouldn’t have trusted his blessing 
I'm starting to think we need to get Pitino here at all costs.
Reason is: It's not guaranteed the fanbase would unite behind Pitino. But it could happen and probably more likely than not. Probably expectations would skyrocket after an initial grumbling period and the hype would make everybody want to jump on board, just like happened once Pope came.
AND,
Unlike with anybody else on the planet,
If Pitino did come here and the fanbase did unite behind him,
Then Pitino could say: "Mitch Barnhart and Eli Capilouta, you're fired" and pretty much the only thing they would be able to say would be: "Okay."
It would be unforgiveable if Pope misses on Collins, Holt, and Stokes. Tubby-level unforgiveable. Pope has to find a way to close on at least one of those guys, or he will totally lose the fan base. This is particularly true considering that most of this team's current parts are role players, and almost all of them are scheduled to return for another season. That's not good. A second edition of inferiority is unacceptable.
I'd be ok landing any freshman at this point. Some young men who can develop here a few seasons
