Where is the buzz? I haven’t read anything or seen anything.

I’m not talking twitter buzz or any of that, by the time something like that is posted it’s usually close to a done deal. This is buzz that we are picking up steam in his recruitment coming from people who are in the know. It’s certainly no where close to a sure thing but we are a hell of a lot closer with him than we were and the staff needs a recruiting win. It’s time to make it happen at all cost IMO. One domino falls and more come with it, time to build next years class atleast 3 from HS or international and fill the rest from the portal.

I would love to land him but I don’t have any confidence in this staff’s ability to land a big time recruit but I sure hope they turn it around.

I don’t know the new staff like I did the old. Used to know everything that was going on and actively involved with the team. I did spend 2 days with this years team 2 weeks ago, good kids overall. Not as connected to the staff as I used to be though I still work with other teams closely on a regular basis. This staff needs a recruiting win badly and I think they know it.

I hope JMI can start putting together contracts recruits actually are willing to sign. Still find it hilarious people say in every thread on this board that Pope can't recruit but he had 2 of the top 10 players in this years class at the signing table, ready to commit, and the players families, agents, group refused to sign the contract put in front of them by JMI. Pope can recruit, at least at a decent level, while having some glaring issues also, but at the end of the day, not one single player has signed to play for UK since the JMI deal was inked. Coincidence?

If this is true, Pope needs to pressure Mitch and JMI to change the system. If he doesn't, he's part of the problem. You don't sit there and let somebody hijack your program and continue to be a bobblehead for them. His actions will tell us everything we need to know about him over the next few months.

There’s been a buzz this past week that we are picking up steam with this one. Wouldn’t be surprised if now that Rippey signed with Duke we gain even more traction here. Would love to see this be our first domino to fall for next year.

We always have good buzz and then the contact gets put out. Then crickets, then we are done. I really hope we change that here with this one.

It seems like our insiders always take the route of it’s a done deal when in reality it’s not close to being done.
