The tyrant in Turkey just won't stop in pursuing Enes. And there is no doubt that the NBA blackballed him because of his outspoken remarks to China's slave labor practices.
He's a hero in my eyes who stands for what he believes in vs that coward LeBron.

Hey now, Lebron does stand up for what he believes in. He absolutely believes in and supports slave labor and even child slave labor. They make him very rich. Please don’t imply he doesn’t have conviction again.

Incredible how an avowed lib goes to Kanters basketball skill in this thread. Just the basic premise that a multi year NBA player who had a pretty darn solid career is a bad basketball player would be stupid enough. But knowing that said poster is only saying this to parrot his media overlords makes it even more ridiculous. Moving on. Isn’t Kanter an American citizen? Why are our leaders not condemning an open threat to an American citizens life? From a supposed NATO ally no less. It appears he does have FBI protection from the story but more needs to be done. This kids a hero and yes Lebron is a Chinese bought and paid for *****.

I find these situations interesting as it brings out the constant hypocrisy of our posters here.

Maybe Kanter was blackballed for speaking out. It's certainly possible. But I find it interesting that since speaking out against China and Turkey and becoming a Fox News hero, he's been put on a pedestal by some here. That's cool with me and Kanter probably deserves it. Of course, the same fans who worship his various stances (he's 30 btw Mash. You called him a "kid") and believe he's being blackballed hate Kaepernick, didn't think it was possible that he was blackballed, called him a racist and ignorant, and repeatedly said that he needs to shut up and if the NFL doesn't want him, he needs to shut up and just go away. You guys act like we all have to step in front of the Men in Black pen before posting and don't remember some of the heated stances many of you take for one athlete but not another athlete.

Anyway, I'm glad Kanter continues to speak out, but again, let's not forget his biggest fans here who love his speaking out were drooling with anger over players speaking out against things they disagreed with. So it's fine to speak out against China or Nike but athletes should remain silent against racism or police brutality? And if they don't, they themselves are the racists? Same **** with Clay Travis. You want a separation between sports and politics with the sports you watch and KSR, but seem fine with Clay mixing both. It's as if you're okay with it if you happen to agree with it. Good stuff.

Only a wokester like you would try to compare Enes to Kapernick and think you've done good work.

Enes is fighting against REAL slavery.

Here's what the divisive, race baiting, money grubbing, pos kapernick calls slavery...

Yup. The poster named for some ****** Finnish rock band is comparing real slavery of the Uyghers with Kaepernicks high school dramatics egged on by his side piece.

All partisans are hypocrites.

All partisans do that thing where they will excuse any and all bad behavior of their “team” and will amplify their faux outrage over the other team’s bad behavior in a similar circumstance.

Recent examples:
Classified document mishandling by 45 and 46. Left piles on Trump, dismisses it as nothing with Biden

Summer of BLM/January 6
Right cries about BLM protests, excuses actions of 1/6/21; Left cries about 1/6, excuses BLM riots. Normal people understand both are bad looks

Wingnuts are blind to bad things their side does, yet hyper aware of bad things the other side does. Both sides equally guilty. No amount of “but what about ____” will change that.

This story has more nuance than just "China and Turkey are bad". The Turkey part anyway.
International relations makes for strange bedfellows and sometimes have to accept the realities of life in the region.
Turkey, Saudi Arabia, to a lesser degree Israel, may not be your most favored nation, but in that part of the world, they may be the best we can do.
Some would argue Turkey is our buffer between us and Russia, adding in the fact they are a buffer vs Iran. They are an alliance though some in thhis government may not see it that way.
Throw in that some may argue Kantner's faction in Turkey may be crazier than the man in charge. That says something. Not that he should be harmed in any way, but that is not uncommon for that part of the world.

Kaepernick got millions of dollars in endorsements for going woke. Enes got punished for his hot take. Not sure if you see the difference and don't care or didn't notice the difference.
