Here's 4.5 hours of CBS live coverage of the launch. Bonus includes 50 year old commercials.

Here's a website running the mission in realtime. Including all the radio communication between the 3 astronauts and between them and mission control.

Still don't know how they fit into that capsule when they were all sporting such a huge set.

One of the great moments in my life and a red letter day in history. Literally just about everyone in the world that had access to a TV was watching.

Armstrong either actually said (or meant to say) "That's one small step for A man, one giant leap for mankind", think the "a" got bleeped out by the transmission, or maybe he meant to say it, but screwed it up,anyway, that is what his true intent was.

Have a feeling we will never see anything like that again. Shame.

Brave folks for sure. Amazing to watch it when it happened.

He just messed it up. He left the A out.

Really? You really don't think an event that, by its nature, can logically never be duplicated (i.e. the first time a human sat foot on another celestial body), will ever been seen again?

Way to go out on a limb.

As a 10 year old when this all took place, I was particularly captivated by the moon landing. Looking forward to seeing documentaries and re-airings of coverage this week.

One of these days we need to get to Mars and start pumping out green house gases so we can make ourselves another place to live.

Besides liberating Europe twice, this is the best thing our government has done in the past 100 years or so. :americanflag:

Also ot... watcher this doc on Saturn. We sent a unmanned ship there 20 years ago (took 7 to get there) and it's been circling it until finally they crashed it in to the planet this past year.

Anyway, the found that a couple of saturns moons have oceans on them. Pretty crazy.

I bet they'd find **** in Uranus if they probed it too.

He didn't say it couldn't be replicated. He is saying it wouldn't be replicated. I have to agree with him. With the state of the country now, half don't want the spending on anything that isn't repirations for people who were never slaves health care for illegals, or same day as birth abortions for men.
