When I lived in Texas I would go at least once a month. Breakfast burritos were great. Since moving to South Florida, I decided to check if there was a restaurant near me. Google maps shows the one in Palm Beach is permanently closed.

Not a lot of Mexican restaurants down here.

Oh well.
Why would there be ? Just trying to start something IMO.

We have a tremendous industry here that Mexicans flooded to for good paying blue collar work. Our Mexican dining is fantastic as a side effect. In fact, we have 3 great options all within 10 minutes from the house and I can feed my family a nice meal for around $70 as opposed to the $120 everywhere else

I think it is the same and I heard nothing but terrible about that one here. South O has too many legit options.

We liked it..went twice. I'm not normally an authentic Mexican food guy, i prefer the americanized mexican food..and thats kinda what that place was imo

Valley has a new(ish) latin place on Main St...used to be Simply Delish i think it was?? Anyway, the new Latin place is freaking amazing...only problem is your clothes and hair will smell like that kitchen when you leave. Totally worth it. Huge portions, great pcices, and the best wine selection. Highly reccomended

The family took a vacation to Sante Fe a couple of years ago. The southwestern food at little cafes, food trucks, and nice restaurants there was even better than I anticipated it would be. I've still haven't enjoyed eating at any Mexican restaurants in Lincoln since we've been back.

On top of that I had the best buffalo wings of my life at a bar there. It was a local place, not a chain, so I can't even find those around here. 😐

The New Mexican's like to put green chiles on literally any food.

Here in Eastern Washington there are plenty of very good Mexican restaurants and Taco trucks. I’ve eaten Mexican food all over the country and here locally is the only place I get this with the customary chips and salsa. All the Mexican restaurants also serve shredded cabbage with onion, chopped jalapeños and lime juice. It is really good. I think one restaurant started serving cabbage with chips and salsa so every other restaurant followed suit. Even the newer Oaxacan restaurant does it. I don’t when it began as it started way before I moved here 25 years ago. You can drive 50 miles away from us in either direction and they don’t do it.

There is a place called Tacos Los Hermanos at 70th and Havelock that is pretty good. Used to be a food truck at that location, but they opened up a counter service restaurant in the old Casey's building. I'm not a foodie by any means, so I have no idea if it is authentic, or texmex or some other fusion, but the Tacos La Isla hit the spot for me.

growing up mexican in 50s nebraska, i saw my mom make a dish that was part german and part mexican. she would buy the local garlic german sausage, salsa with tomatillos, serranos, jalapenos, tomates, onions add her own refried beans and homemade tortillas which i would call them mexican flapjacks. no utensils just tortillas to scoop them up. the next days the same ,except maybe porkchops or carnitas. best mexican food in nebraska-my kitchen

Hey what’s your thoughts on Wellington? My wife may have a job opportunity there. I don’t care where we live since my office is the airport so PBI & FLL could be my new homes haha

Are you saying Eastern Washington is the only place in the country with free chips and salsa?

The local ones in my area have good food but I’m older and was raised on meat and potatoes so I don’t care for a daily dose of Mexican food

Taco Tuesday! $1 tacos! I used to go weekly in WY.
Inflation has really hit the restaurant industry. Took the kids to taco Tuesday (which used to cost me about $25-30 as I get other things to support the restauruant) and it cost $47 now. And they are asking for tips now which they didn't before, it's not a sit down restaurant with a waiter. I'm sure the margins are smaller but the tipping has gotten out of hand. I was asked for a tip at papa murphys a few weeks ago and at a few drive thru's.

The tip thing I think came about from the payment companies and the businesses latched on. It's stupid. Especially if these people are going to avoid paying taxes on these tips.

I was sad to see Julio’s close down. I always thought their flash fried tacos were solid and their happy hour was a really good deal

YES!! Thats it.
Went there just a few weeks ago. It’s amazing. So glad Valley is bringing in new things. I was like a kid on Christmas when the new Ace Hardware opened in Valley. Now Fareway is in the works for Valley. Things people get excited about as they get older.

We love small town restaurants....Fremont (Osteria Kayla), Louisville, even Don's bar in Memphis...Valley, great places to go for a drive and get your feedbag on..
