7-footers and Layups

It should be considered a sin against nature for 7-footers to attempt finger roll layup against shorter defenders. Layups by 7-footers should be finished with dunks. It is even worse when the 7-footer misses the layup. It is another example of our bigs playing below the rim. The fact that Kentucky is doing what it is doing with such limitations in the paint is all about Pope's brilliance as a coach.

I want to scream every time they do it. MYbe dunking they could be better than 50% on lay ups.

It's gotta be harder than it looks, right? It's easy for us normal size people to say "just dunk it" but it's way too widespread for it to just be an extremely easy thing that guys refuse to do for some reason.

It is hard if you can barely jump over a blade a grass. Most 7-footers try to dislodge the rim from the backboard when going to the basket against shorter players.
