Holy sh**, I am watching the game again and I didn’t see this Saturday night. Up 78-74 and Amari tracks down the defensive rebound in the corner. Two state players are coming in hot as he grabs the ball. He gets hit across both arms and ball goes out of bounds. The camera angle replay on baseline showed this clearly. The ref right there on the baseline had a better look than the camera did. No foul, out of bounds off Amari is the call. Then next play same ref on baseline calls the foul on Jaxson when the dude tripped over his own feet.
This could have been a swing in momentum that led to a loss but it didn’t.
Super proud of them for overcoming all this.

If Amari gets the rebound or the ref makes the correct call (foul on MSU) the ball goes to UK. Very likely that UK comes down the next possession and makes a lay up or three, and the two three pointers from MSU never happen. That was a 8-9 point swing where UK went from potentially being up 81/80 to 74, but end up down 78 to 80.

UK was really close to blowing out MSU. Had 4-5 similars possessions where UK was not strong enough with the rebound, we were pretty loose with the basketball, and Pope probably should have call timeout when MSU cut the 14 point led to 8 or 6. Clean up the turnovers and hold onto loose balls.........UK wins by 10 or more.

I noticed that play when it happened. The dude hacked down across Amari's arm like he was chopping firewood.

Yeah. Amari had it and that double team hack actually changed the possession. Can’t remember if they inbounded and hit a 3 but any change of possession late is big.

Yeah, I was texting all my friends about that on in particular. Always seems teams can capitalize on egregiously bad calls like that too. Hmm, maybe refs bad calls messes up players mental?

How can the outcome from ONE possession result in 2 Miss. State 3's ? 8/9 point swing ?? Exaggerate much ? Also, ASSUMING UK hit a 3 and State goes on to hit TWO 3's ?????? If "Ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we would all have a Merry Christmas" and such.

I'm not really in this fight but want to point out that we did have a possession against UGA last week where the guy hit a shot, Carr was called for a flagrant foul giving them 2 free throws and they got possession of the ball after the free throws so that could have easily resulted in a 7 point swing if they hit both free throws and then hit a 3.

I wish the rules on this board allowed for the use of profanity when discussing the referees. Until that change happens I've got to stay out of this one.
Yeah, the refs' calls were complete horse ship. They look like they were intentionally trying to forking will Miss. St. to win the god dam game. Amari obviously got the pizz knocked out of him on that rebound and the refs swallowed their whistles like 1970 hook....I'll stop there.

It's not difficult to understand, simple math really.

noticed the lack of foul call on Amari immediately. this was a big turn of events..........a 6 point trip that luckily UK was able to over come.
I hope this is one of the highlights that the SEC office gets from UK

did you watch the game? after the non call, MSU hit a 3 pointer & UK was called for a foul, then MUS hit another 3 pointer. 6 point swing.
now if the call was made, UK hs the ball up 6, with a chance to go up 8 or 9 with a basket or 3 pointer. pretty simple math

One bad call can easily be a 6 point swing.
7-8 is possible. Not likely but possible.
State had a 6 point play on a bogus rebounding foul. Dude tripped over his own feet.
Follow me.
Amari got Hacked. No question. Should have been our ball. We could hit a 3 if our possession.
Let’s say State got their 6 point bogus rebounding foul there.
Without possession it’s a 9 point swing based on one call. It’s possible.
Tim Donaghy in his documentary said it only takes 3-4 calls at critical points for him to control a game.

My favorite was the breakaway dunk after the missed 3/outlet pass. The MSU kid literally took 5 steps on his way to the basket

I know the refs are not capable of catching everything and missing a couple of calls, but it seems like the biggest majority are in our opponents favor every game.
