First time this year I thought I was watching kentucky basketball and kind of got the chills like I remember supporting my old normal uk teams.
When we went on the 8-0 and 10-0 run, we were playing with purpose and determination. That's an improvement. That's a big improvement week over week.
I said it last week that when Aberdeen said he was the leader I thought it was unusual and I still don't like that mindset. I'd like to see him look at himself as a leader that doesn't have to score if he touches the ball. He forces alot of bad stuff. By Stuff, I mean that that the play looks like it's going to go wrong when he decides he's keeping the ball for 5 seconds or more.
Mo played with the grit and tenacity we expected. Garrison obviously an improvement but I'm not going to speak to that because I think the output was so low that tonight isn't measurable or worth discussion.
It's sad because I almost feel bad for Lowe. His layups are missed due to his length. He missed dominate hand layups tonight due to his length. He played his best game but I was just shaking my head when he'd miss at the basket.
First ole UK feel to a game in a while but it was only during that 10-0 run in which I saw it.
Props to Pope and whoever else was involved in the messaging for tonight's game and moving forward in terms of effort. That was clearly an improvement, now we just need to try to figure out what our lineups will be and structuring some sort of offensive.
