81.9 or 84.3, which one is better?

Our 81.9 def. eff. is crazy, crazy good. Like historic good, but Kornheiser says Virginia has the #1 defense. It is very impressive that they have held teams in the 20s three times this year. Really starting to think it's gonna be us and them in the title game this year.

I didn't hear him say they're the best defense. Right now, the comparison is there, but it shouldn't be. We're much more efficient defensively, and our style of defense is very different. The points allowed is back and forth with us, but take into account their incredibly slow pace (next to last in the country), it's significantly easier to slow a team down. That said, Virginia is not an athletic team, they're not a very deep team, they don't want to run with teams like Kentucky, and I think they could possibly struggle with Louisville in that regard, even if Louisville is incredibly inept at shooting the basketball. UVA don't force many turnovers, and they really have no individual show-stoppers on the defensive end.
That said though, UK vs UVA in the title game is very possible, but I don't see Virginia giving UK a ton of problems overall.
Just my honest opinion.

Looking at their schedule, I'll be convinced if they look so good after their 1/31-2/11 stretch. I'm going out on a limb and predicting they drop two of those games. If they win all of them, then they're a contender in my book.

If they win all four of those games, I would say they overtake Kentucky as the #1 team in the country. That would be quite a run.

Well that's just really dumb. These are still young kids. It's unimpressive because they put in the hard work their whole life to achieve an accolade prior to getting to college? Somehow I'm not surprised by this though.

Well he thought it was more impressive. He also mentioned if UVa makes it through this part of their schedule where they play Duke , UNC, and UL without losing, they should be #1.

If Virginia took #1 I would have a problem with it at all after that stretch.

You all have no problem with us dropping to #2 just because they win 3 tough games? UK started the season #1 and still haven't lost a single game. So if UK is still undefeated after that stretch they should drop? Turn your fan cards in please.

Bingo! But guess what? I gulf between UK and UVA is soooo broad that as long as UK wins, no way they jump us. None.

Yea, that didn't make any sense at all saying they should be #1 if they win those games. Still won't have faced the schedule UK has.

We will see how all those lower rated guys do when they face some heavily talented teams like Duke, UNC and to a lesser extent, UL.

And UK could only be so lucky to get UVA as its national title game opponent. We have a better offense, defense, players, and a better coach...would not bode well for them.
