Anyone else having problems with 840 AM coming in right now? I went somewhere at 11 am and just drove home a few minutes ago and it's been almost all static. I never have any issues with the signal normally. Just trying to figure out if something is up with my car radio or not. Might be related to the bad weather that came through Louisville last night.

Hmmm…did you try any other radio stations? That may be a good test to see if it was your radio or not.

Probably should have but just wanted to hear something and put on some music. Don't think I even have another station on AM saved to be honest. Might go put there and try at halftime of the basketball game.

Considering the programming they carry during that time frame, consider yourself lucky for the static.

That's weird. None of the AM stations are coming in now. Antenna seemed fine. Strange that it just randomly started today. Sucks if the radio is screwed up. It's a factory radio that's tied into the steering wheel for controlling it and using your phone. Don't know if you can get an aftermarket one that will work with the steering wheel controls. It's about 12 years old and probably not easily replaceable with a similar one.

There are some unusal conditions that can know out station at WHAS's frequency. Very, very rare. Also it would knock out other stations, most likely the entire AM band. you might still hear local stations. If it's still out tomorrow, most likely your radio. Try another one.

Checked my son's radio and it comes in just fine. So need to figure out if the radio is screwed up or maybe an antenna issue. Sucks because I've been listening to talk radio mostly these days. Will have to stream with my phone if I can't figure it out. This happened after the bad weather came through. Surely it isn't weather related or there would be more damage I would think.

Used to pick up 840 in Florida as far south as Lake Okechobee for decades, but now you get to Atlanta and some Cuban station is on.

Funny thing is it started working again this morning. Still getting some static but it got much better the closer I got to downtown. So it makes me think there might be an antenna problem. Maybe after 12 years the antenna wire came loose.
