Good Lord. The regular season will be over with in 9 games. What do you expect Duke’s record will be in those 9 games? I’m going to be optimistic and say we go 8-1. I think we beat everyone remaining on our schedule except AT UVA, even though I feel more confident about beating UVA THIS game than last game. They’ve had a week off to prepare for us and then that whole revenge factor. After playing us, UVA plays at UNC, but they only get the Heels once this season. After Duke/UNC, UVA’s schedule is very friendly. The regular season crown is still attainable but we will need to go damn near undefeated in our nine remaining games to win it because UVA’s remaining opponents aren’t going to help us.

I’m optimistic about our remaining games. What about you?

I still find it amazing that we shot 51% on UVA, the #1 rated defense, going ISO all-day - and that was without Tre Jones. We had 6 assists on 26 made baskets, for reference. If UVA plays similar defensive schemes against us, I think we will win again. One of the keys to that game is we only took 14 3-pointers. With road games at UVA, Va Tech, Syracuse, Louisville, and UNC, I gotta think we lose at least 1, possibly 2. Hoping for 8-1 down the stretch - preferably not losing to UNC.

I've got us at 9-0. This team is starting to become special in my opinion in that everyone seems to understand their roles and the defense is strong.

With that week off, I’m interested to see what wrinkle Bennett will throw at us.

Also, I think Ty Jerome missed their last game. Any updates on his status? I know he’s gonna play, but if he doesn’t, Duke will have a better chance at winning.

I'd take 6-3 if it means we embarrass UNC. I want a 30+ point win against them this year. Beat them so bad some of their players actually go to class. So bad Roy gives up Coke for the rest of the month. So bad that even Dakitch goes "wow."

As long as we beat UNC at UNC....

Remember, the second Duke/UNC matchup determines NCAA Tournament success

My heart tells me we are going to run the table but my head says not. Let's get by UVA 1st and I think we will. In the other games remaining teams want to beat us in a bad weigh. For some a win against Duke may get them into the dance . They are some tough games left both home and away. I do think we beat UVA Sat. I think we win all roads games and games we are supposed to win. We got the cheaters twice and they are playing well. No doubt we will beat them at home. As far as down there we are going to have to play the best we have all year. OFC

UVA shot really poorly the first time we played. That's a tall order winning in their place. I'd be happy if Duke took only good shots, limited the back door layups they give up, and keep it really close.

After that, UNC will play lights out at their place, Louisville will play hard, and I expect one more defeat. 7-2 in this stretch would be unbelievably good and toughen us for the tournaments.

Duke hasn’t lost to UVA at UVA since 2013.

Our talent, along with K, have been a great equalizer to UVA’s defense while they have been dominant, home or road.

Here’s to hoping Cam can have a Tatum/Tyus like game on Saturday.

If we beat Virginia then we just need to make sure that we end up with the same record as them and we’ll share the regular season title and get the 1 seed in the ACCT because of the tiebreaker.

I think/hope 8-1. And that should lock us into a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament regardless of what happens in the ACC Tournament, although we'll go ahead and win that to make the point moot.

I want the #1 overall seed in the big dance. Really bad.

I think we can win out, but it's a tall order to win all those road games, (and 2 games, 1 at home, against our hated rival...and they are playing very well right now).
But if any team can do it, this one can. They manufacture ways to win.

Didn't realize he had a back injury. I'm sure they felt comfortable without his services for a home game against Miami - that certainly explains why the game was much closer than you'd expect. We had trouble containing him in the 2nd half of our first meeting. Hopefully Jerome is okay, if he's playing I'd like to see Tre Jones stuck on him. I like our chances.

8-1 or 7-2 is most likely with 9-0 and 6-3 decent long shots. Let’s just down the Heels two times please.

I can't lie, I'm growing less confident about Carolina. They're hitting all cylinders offensively, getting better... well, maybe not defensively.

Zion and R.J. should be problems for them though. So I don't know how either game will go, other than I expect both games to be relatively high scoring.

I don't see us sweeping them though. Hope I'm wrong.

I see Zion taking over both games to prove something to Nassir Little and Tarheel Nation. I’m looking past UVA. If we can’t score there, so be it.

I completely get where you are coming from, but, white hasn't seen anything like Tre yet, Luke damn sure hasn't seen anytjing like Zion yet, so, I think if who ever is on Cam Johnson can make life hard on him, I could see us actually making this look easier than it does on paper. I agree, it looks like a very tough game, but I wouldn't be shocked at all for us to sweep

Absolutely. Can't let Johnson have big game from deep. When they are hitting the 3 they are good. I like our defense to get the job done though.......man it feels great to say that with confidence this season.

I won’t be confident with beating the holes until the final buzzer sounds and we have the lead. We have to rebound the ball and cover their shooters.
This is The Rivalry in all of sports, anything can happen.

We could sweep, but I certainly am not expecting it. Anyone expecting a sweep has not been watching this series very long. We are better than UNC, but not 82-50 better.

Absolutely anything can happen. We all know it's typically a dog fight. All I'm saying is that I believe we have atleast a couple of really bad mismatches for them. Could they come out blazing hot? Of course They could. But I feel good....really good about our chances

I think our overall D, ability to switch everything, length of Reddish, Barret will make it tough on NC's shooting. UVAs poor shooting was not a random event. Against NC, the key will be off ball defenders not turning their backs on their man when a shot goes up and star gazing at the rim while their man soars in for an offensive rebound. Our games against UVA and UNC will tell the college basketball world a whole lot.

Won't Reddish be on Johnson? If so he's toast. I think we sweep, win by 10-15 in Cameron, and by a little less at the dome. The matchups just simply fall in our favor at every position. Not to mention UNCheat allows nearly 74 a game. That atrocious defense, their need to play fast, along with Duke's fantastic defense will be too much to overcome. Also, we have Zion, and they dont!

I hope like hell we don't let Carolina kill us on the boards, which seems like it usually happens. We keep that under control (particularly limit their offensive rebounding) and I like our chances better.

If Zion can stay out of foul trouble, he could potentially have a 30 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals kind of game against the Heels. That crap about Little guarding him and getting the best of him in the McDonald's game on a couple of possessions... I hope he takes that very personally.
