WVU is getting more respect from 247Sports’ Chris Anderson and in national rankings than from too many on this WVU sports forum.

Anderson has nationally #27 WVU 4th behind only nationally #4 Kansas, nationally #7 Texas and nationally #12/#13 Baylor.

How Anderson ranks Big 12 teams with Big 12 conference matchups ready to start New Year’s Eve (note that he has WVU one notch ahead of Kansas State, the Mountaineers first Big 12 game that's in Kansas):

1. Kansas
2. Texas
3. Baylor
4. West Virginia
5. Kansas State
6. Oklahoma
7. TCU
8. Iowa State
9. Texas Tech
10. Oklahoma State

I hope Anderson and Associated Press and coaches rankings are more accurate than posts I’ve seen from nattering negative nabobs on this forum.

By the way, this is how WVU players got to Morgantown from colleges and NOT from high schools:

Tre Mitchell from Texas
Joe Toussaint from Iowa
Erik Stephenson from South Carolina
Emmitt Matthews from Washington
Mohamed Wague from Harcum Junior College
Jimmy Bell from Moberly Community College in Missouri
Kedrian Johnson from Temple (2nd year at WVU)
Jose Perez from Manhattan
Patrick Suemnick from Triton College


Not transfers but:
Kamel King from Arizona’s Bella Vista Prep
James Okonkwo from Beckley Prep

Now, how about some positive posts that match Anderson, the AP rankings and the coaches' rankings? After all, we DO want WVU and Huggins to do well, right? We're all on the same page with that or we don't belong on this forum.

4th place in Big 12 will get you a 3 or 4 seed. But will not get you first round win.

You sit there on one hand run the poll voters done the road (another thread questioning them being “experts “) then use the fact that WVU gets ranked and you hinge your claims on the poll voters for the flavor of the week rankings this thread.
