SIAP (and I know late) but just wanted to pass along my new found appreciation for Coach Smith and quick Grapple on the Gridiron video. I know it probably happens a lot more than we see and hear but sacrificed for the good of the sports.

I was not a John Smith fan until I heard Tom Brands say that it took Smith less than a minute to agree to wrestle at Kinnick. I believe Brands said something like, "I thought it would take about an hour of convincing and he (Smith) was ready to do it in less than 60 seconds". I get a feeling that Smith / Brands hate each other on the mat but understand that sport needs heroes and villains.

Now Smith is taking a banged up squad up to Happy Valley. I applaud him for his commitment to promote wrestling and not back down from a challenge. And, while you are there on Sunday, feel free to beat PSU.
