…9-6 currently, with 16 more SEC games, and at least 1 SEC tournament game. What‘s your prediction for the rest of the season?

I now think we’ll end up 6-12 in the conference, and get knocked out in the first round of the SEC tournament.

That would put us at 15-17 for the final record.

Well, the good news is the SEC ain’t nearly as strong as last year …so that should mean a few extra wins we may eke out.

This team against last year’s SEC would be be facing a bloodbath.

Hard to see how this team makes the tourny at this point. Could even be a losing record at the end.

I don’t get why Barnhart is so untouchable. This team is missing the tournament and losing at least 14 games. Will probably lose the all time wins.

joker, bcg, etc, and Mitch just buttons his top button and moves on. But do you see him on the sidelines during games? He really cares!

if it was up to Barnhart we would of never had the cal years.

Because it's a good ole boy network at UK. Mitch retires in June, so they won't fire him before then anyway.

it sadly is and that's the only answer. It connects the dots between JMI, Mitch, whoever that one chick on JMI's boar is...

Unless he won a title recently or had extreme circumstances affecting him, a coach shouldn’t be allowed to come back after going under .500. A blowout in the Sweet 16 shouldn’t get you another year. I doubt many major programs would run it back another year. But somehow we’re different from every other program.

I read your post several times thinking I could find a flaw in your thinking and after all this, I believe your opinion just might be a little generous.
How could JQ only score 1 point last night?
We are so screwed.

Agree. Couple of things. Bottom line is he should not have been hired. Another thing is since things are like the pros now, there is a shorter window before you're seriously on the hot seat. In the NBA he'd be gone. Last thing is Mitch. He is the root of all this.

I think it's a little generous too. Feels odd saying that but look at Miss State and LSU. We could legit lose both.

IMO best case 10-7, 19-13.
After seeing last night's game, worst case is 6-11, 15-17.

I have to change my prediction after looking at the schedule. We could actually win 6-7 conference games, maybe 8. But, I don’t think more than that would be feasible for this team and that is if they fix a lot of issues. I would love to be wrong and they start Saturday with a win, but Josh Hubbard is a stud and loves playing UK, he might score 30+

We will struggle against all the SEC. I do think we lose to UGA and that Wilkins kid. UGA is better than people think. Man this sucks.

They will lose a game they shouldn't and win a game (or two) they shouldn't.

I think they go 9-7 and finish the season 18-13. Go 0-1 in SECT for a final record of 18-14 with no NCAAT invite.

That’s not happening. In fact, I’ll bet the first person to take me up this $5000 that we don’t get to 20 regular season wins, and I’ll give 2-1 odds.

I’d say pretty accurate based on how things are going. I honestly see slightly below .500, which should be a fireable offense but it won’t be unfortunately

Matt Jones said that Pope could lose out this year and still get another year. I don’t know if that’s true but I’m not going to games anymore or watching. It’s hard for me to even hope they win if we are gonna have this for another year regardless.

Hard to trust Matt, considering his politics. Matt says this type of stuff, because it’s easy to predict. He has no knowledge of this, simply because the people that would make this type of decision, haven’t even considered it yet.

Most coaches get 3 years minimum, especially if they have a ridiculous buyout like Barnhart gives out like it’s candy.

It would be like me saying that I’ve heard that Zac Taylor will be on the hot seat next season.
That‘s just a general thing that anyone can say, but it doesn’t mean you have some kind of “source”.
