6-7 220 pounds forward who can shoot and rebound in high school, in state prospect. Have above average athleticism.

Seems to have relationship with Sheppard family

#2 ranked player in Kentucky. 32 ranked PF, 84 overall. Looks like he’s got game and a nice college frame. I could see him being like Noah if he has an outside game to match. Don’t see him shoot much except the corner 3. Let’s see how his senior year goes and where he ends up ranked and stuff. I like his game.

Does he rebound and play defense, because his offense looked average at best. I don’t think he has the physical tools. We are Ky. We should be able to get athletes who can shoot and defend, get their own shot if need be, etc. If he is a fifth recruit for development maybe, but your not winning championships with him as a starter.

How quick is he? Can he get a big lift off the floor. Two things that are a must in a PF is quickness and lift. Being able to shoot is a given to be considered prior to quickness & lift. We need kids that have enough quicknees to create their own shot. We have a roster full of spot up shooters that can't create off the dribble. Kids who can create their own shot are the same kids that can play defense

I love to keep kids in state and hope this young man has a nice D-1 career. That said, we are in heavy on #2 OVR 2026 PF Mikka Muurinen (https://247sports.com/player/miikka-muurinen-46144609/) and have also offered the #1 OVR PF (Tyran Stokes, who might actually end up as a SF). Offers are also on the table to 3 T10 SF's (although Holt might be more a a SG and I highly doubt Ariza leaves the land of fruits & nuts to land in LEX). I'd rather grab a 5-Star PF and a Portal PF than simply favor a project because he lives in state. Let Davidson start at WKU/Morehead/Murray and if he becomes a stud bring him in via the portal as a Jr.

Reed’s first cousin. He isn’t Kentucky caliber. Watch him multiple times a year
Well then, Reed must have him wearing Arky shirts now then.

never seen or heard of him, but don't see a lot from the clips
He is a good shooter, at least in the clips. He can finish at the rim with both hands and can easily dunk from off feet. Has ball-handling skills also. I like him offensively. Can he play defense? Most high-schoolers his size don’t have to.

That is true. I have no idea other than the highlights I just watched.

Looks like Scott Padgett same ears too.
I was about to say he's got the Padgett ears.

I randomly saw Scott at Boyd Orchards back in the early 2010s. Was pretty surreal.

As for the player, get him on the team. If we have 15 slots going forward, we'll need to fill them somehow. There are worse things than having a fourth year kid on the roster who knows the system.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the coaching staff? I know of literally thousands of Kentucky high school basketball players who could be multi-year guys at Kentucky.

I've only watched him once in person, but he was extremely underwhelming. I'm sure he's a pretty solid player, but when I watched him he couldn't finish anything around the basket. He has a decent stroke, but seemed to want to do most of his work around the basket.

He didn't appear to be a high level d1 player, imo. Someone said Derek Willis vibes, and I can't agree at all. Willis was longer and a MUCH better shooter. This kid strikes me as more of a NKU type player.

Take a look at who he is playing though. He is not playing D1 athletes in the clips I saw and looked average. He has very little lateral quickness or lift. He might be able to hold his rebounding position, but he won’t get the rebound because they are likely to go around or over him. No thanks. We have to stop thinking every tall kid from Ky can play here. This year was an exception. Tay and Stokes look exceptional, but they left the state. Green was tall and could shoot, but TBH, we got the better players in Noah and Perry.
