Not that I have much to root for. Currently at work with the Rice vs UTSA women's game running on a side monitor. Rice is up 9 almost into the 4Q. If they lose they're likely headed for the WNIT...they're 26-3 coming into this game, 17-1 overall in the AAC, 65 in the NET. I don't think they played the same hard schedule that USF played but I think AAC is a 1 bid conference so it'd be a shame if they lose out on this.

On the men's side, Memphis is squarely a bubble team if they don't win the conference tournament at #48 NET

Memphis will bump a big dog if they don't win the AAC Tourney. I think!!!!

The reason, they beat Missouri, UNLV, UCONN, Mich ST., Clemson, Ole Miss. that is more than enough to get in

Go TU!!!!

I am hoping for a Memphis 8 or 9 seed. That's what they deserve. Next to a # 1 Duke like we got in 1999. If you can't beat Arkansas State at your home you don't deserve better.

This Duke team is nothing like that 1999 team which may have been hailed as one of the best NCAA teams ever had they not lost to UCONN. (Much like the 1991 UNLV team that Duke upset).

And Memphis is nothing like that 1999 TU team. First, Self is 100X a better coach than Penny and can do more with less vs Penny's usual doing less with way more. 2nd, that TU team was very good defensively. This Memphis team is sort of meh defensively. That '99 game was just a bad matchup for TU. Had they played any other #1 seed there was a fighting chance to upset them. And that Duke team was all FR/SO in terms of who contributed and they all went on the play some in the NBA..

And I don't know that there is any team in the country currently that Memphis couldn't beat on a good day. They have that much talent...where they don't match up well is at head coach.

I was there for both games. Self nearly lost his composure in the College of Charleston game, his first NCAA appearance. :)

Memphis is definitely in, but would be nice for the conference to somehow get 2 bids if someone else wins the tourney (UAB is the only team i think could beat them in the tourney)

FAU or UNT might have a chance against Memphis. FAU has size.

And UNT has one of the better defensive efficiencies in the nation as well as a top 20 pts scored to pts allowed ratio.

For any team to beat Memphis, they have to keep them off the offensive boards.

You cover all three point shooters, don't foul Haggerty, and somehow outrebound the two giants inside. You have to hit outside shots as everything inside is blocked.

I watched one of UNTs games earlier this season and they are extremely efficient on offense.

Be honest Memphis struggles to some competition on the road. There are plenty of teams that can beat Memphis in Fort Worth. I agree that Memphis is in regardless because of their schedule and record against that schedule. I really like UNT. They have a complete team. Their issue is finishing the game. That is a big thing but I like their chances.

I like Tulsa’s path. We got the best possible matchups. Now what the do with it is a different story

If Konkol had written in his choice of who to play, this is the perfect set up for TU.

I completely agree. Memphis will NOT be a bubble team if they lose in the AAC tournament. Their non-conference wins were very impressive.

I do hope they lose, so we can get 2 teams in.

I try to root for all AAC teams in the NCAA tournament. It’s going to be a struggle for me to root for Memphis.

You are probably right. Maybe Tulane would have been easier.
He just wasn't thinking it through. In order of ease, if we received the 9, 10, 11, or 12 seed.

1 Temple/N Texas/Memphis (#10 seed)
2 E Carolina/UAB/Memphis (#11 seed)
3 Charlotte/Tulane/Memphis/UAB or N Texas (#12 seed)
4 USF/Memphis/UAB or N Texas (#9 seed)

WSU up 10 on south florida at the half. Last part of the half dominating the bulls

About as bad of an ending to the half by WSU. Up 14 with 8 seconds to go. Committed 2 really dumb fouls which created 4 points by USF without taking time off clock.
