I have a house that is 23 years old in Oldham County, that needs replacing. Can anyone recommend a company and product I should use or stay away from. Is a two stage system worth the extra money. Thanks

Nope. Go with the 3 stage system. You want to be able to use the pressured air at another stage to cut the cost of your electricity and it saves the life of your new system. I think they offer 25 year warranties.

I suggest you look into ductless if you're going to replace the whole system.

It seems like a far more intelligent way to heat and cool a house.

You cant use a ductless to heat and cool a whole house. They are not intended for that. If you have a bonus room or an enclosed porch, then I would recommend a ductless.
As far as equipment goes look at the Carrier product. You can google Carrier dealers in your area, then check with the BBB. Or go to Carrier.com

Yeah, doing a whole house ductless would be a tough feat and really expensive. They're not really made to be a primary source of heat. Those little things are badass for converted attic spaces though.

2 stage systems are nice energy savers so the upgrades depend on your up front budget. As far as brands any of the major brands are fine and most of them share manufacturing lines, similar to the car industry. We use Carrier in most of our markets.

OP, I'd be happy to help you out in more detail if you need. [email protected]

The rest of the world uses ductless to heat and cool entire houses. It is neither expensive or difficult, I would seriously question the advice of anyone who doesn't know that.

I would love to get paid what it would cost to install ductless systems to heat and cool entire houses. An average install for just one system $4000.00 to $5000.00.
I don't know where you get your info!

^and that's for a single unit. Once you start getting into multiple units per inverter it really ramps up. To do a 3 bed house I would think 20k is what you're looking at and I still wouldn't have it in my house as a primary heat source even though they're trying to market that now. Give me good old reliable gas heat with ducts everyday.

Other countries use it and their comfort level is ****. Trust me. I spent a week in Africa with ductless units and it was miserable. They also only condition living spaces.

DF should not be more problematic if installed correctly which is not complicated. I'd prefer that over a package unit everyday. DF has kinda fallen in popularity because gas prices aren't crazy like they were predicted. I have 1 installed at my house.

Doubtful. I would assume it was wired incorrectly. You in Paducah? Can't remember.

Couldn't remember where you were out there. We're launching in Henderson/Owensboro next week so I was going to send a guy over.

the problems you're stating aren't likely "lemon" issues. These are replaceable parts going bad for a reason.
