I doubt it. There’s a lot of money in non conference tournaments and games.
Just in time for the inception of The Network.

Outside of UNC, who would you all like to see as our three year partner as a primary rival?
I’d have preferred Syracuse, UVA or NC State. UVA would be an enormous draw nationally, Syracuse would be competitive and playing in the Dome is fun. State would be nostalgic and would always provide a tough matchup, in Raleigh especially.

Those would still be played. We would eliminate games against Stetson, Hartford, Yale, Princeton, and maybe St. John's.
28 game conference schedule plus our choice of either playing in an early season tournament or participating in the Champions Classic, ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and then one more gimme game.
I really wonder what this will do to small schools. Those Guarantee games help fund their entire athletic departments. Duke and other ACC schools will have less of a chance to give big checks to the smaller schools. Gonna be interesting to see what happen to those programs who depend on those checks.
