Spring practice, spring game....Fan Day...Tailgating, opening kickoff in the new CWS....

I pulled the trigger on my K-fund donation late last week and snared some great seats to watch Kentucky play FOOTBALL

You ask why? I just have the sense that Coach is getting it done. He has made the changes that needed to be made. He's bringing in talent, real SEC talent...and not just a dribble of one or two guys at a time. They are coming now in bunches. When was the last time we had the likes of Landon Young, Kash Daniel, Tate Leavitt, Drake Jackson...all in the same recruiting class. Jesus, maybe not since Curci brought Bryant, Still and Ramsey in here 40 years ago.

I like what I see happening here. I like the idea of going to Commonwealth with a sense of pride that we are NOT going to roll over and get the crap beat out of us without one hell of a fight. It's the first time in 25 years, since old man Claiborne was here, that I've been able to say that.

Go Big Blue.

Let's go kick some SEC butt

Keep that mindset alive. Kentucky Football is waking up.

Gran and Hinshaw have given us the kickstart we needed after Dawson ran the offense into the ground. I feel like we'll all be pleased in the coming season.

To be fair, he's not exactly wrong. The offseason is when we get our hopes up, but I feel like Stoops has the staff in place to take us to the next level. Because of that, I think pre-season excitement is more justifiable this year than in years past.

Why would someone be unhapp y with a UK fan that looks forward to FB season .And if he's watched since Curci I'd say he has seen the ups and downs

Thank you all for the support

As some of you know I have not been in that stadium since we beat UT (what seems like) many years ago now

It's taken this much time for me to feel comfortable enough to get back in the water

Someone this morning, who knows I got the tickets, said to me, "Well I see Kentucky is still Kentucky....one of their coaches left for Carolina (of all places)" and I just said to that person....

"White noise"

"White noise, baby. The symphony is still playing, and that little whimper was just white noise"

I just don't see it myself. I was going to make a smart crack about Samwise not being there cause he would be giving away his tickets by the end of the Florida game but I"m going to try to take the high road here.

I think six wins is the most that UK fans should expect next season. The three cupcakes, Mizzou, USCjr and Vandy. That would be a one game improvement. The BIG improvement will come in the '17 season. This season is going to be a teeter totter season. Could go either way. New OC with a new system. New QB. New rebuilt defense. Lots of questions to be answered.

No fan can expect freshmen help on the O line. It just doesn't happen .This is not basketball. Even great linemen redshirt cause they need that year out of HS to get up to SEC strength. Not sure if Young and co. will redshirt or not but if they are starting in the line at the southern miss game they are sure going to have a steep learning curve. Fans should be aware of that.

RB will be the strongest and best part of the team. If the running backs stay healthy could be a good season. If the defense struggles could be a long or even a very long season.

I can be dry and very sarcastic... But when it comes to who does and doesn't buy season tickets or attend games >>>>>>
I try and be supportive of those who attend and remain non-judgemental regarding those that don't....
People make this decision as a result of many objective and subjective variables.... Not for me to be critical...
I do think that bringing new people into the seats is a healthy thing.... Samwise I hope you are entertained... The live experience of sport is second only to playing... But it's not for everyone. Enjoy!

I'm excited too, seems like we've been stuck on third and short for too long. I don't know if this is the year that Stoops pushes this program forward but I'll be there watching.

I'm all about people's freedom to make snarky comments, but when I do it, I know there's a potential for someone to call me out. You have to be prepared for that. Samwise wins, fatality.

I'm excited too, mostly because of the linemen we have coming in. I believe a team in built from the inside out, and the guys we have coming in are as legit as we'll ever see at UK.

Freshman start on the oline all across the sec. Landon Young will be the starter from day one. He has the size to play now. He will have his bumps but he is better than Meadows and Mosier. People have posted the numerous freshman starters last year for other sec teams.

I'm ready for the Spring game - looking forward to Barker to Conrad and Mr. Johnson behind an improved O Line! Our D is going to get after it this year! Our DB's and LB's will be great!

Honestly still think people don't fully realize how much of an improvement Gran and Hinshaw will be.

Neal Brown called some weird games while he was here but most of the time it could be explained based on talent and situation... Dawson just did some things that were absolutely bizarre.

He Ran an Air Raid but had the OLine line up in power run style splits. Ran air raid out of the wishbone but didn't throw to the full back or Hback/TE or even the running backs that were coming out of the of the backfield essentially eliminating 2 or 3 of available targets . He didn't have a goal line or short yardage package which was most infuriating thing ever... 1 yard to end zone and 3 draw plays from shotgun instead of jumbo package and punch it in. I know we all had just about enough of that one in particular. He was trying to reinvent the wheel with a Frankenstein esque mashup of philosophies and line assignments... Offense had no identity because Dawson had no identity.

Haven't seen a ton of Gran but I do know he knows what he wants, his teans have an identity, a philosophy and approach that's proven and practical, and has been around the block and doesn't take any **** from his players.

The offense is going to look and operate like a comletely different unit. I'm sure there will be bumps and hiccups but it will be a coherent unit that has an identity and a plan... Unlike last year

Think we have petty much been saying the same thing for four years now...I will have my tickets and be at every game h/a, but I'm in a show me mode...fingers crossed , but no excitement or expectations

I'm less excited for a UK football season than I've been since 2006 and 2012. I think we will finish 4-8 or 3-9, and I believe that we will lose the opener against Southern Miss. This is going to be the worst defense we've fielded since 2006 when we finished dead last in defense.

Excited to see Gran run the Offense. I think this may be the first well executed Offense we have seen in the last 3 years and maybe in last 10 years. No more OCs in training. I just wish that Stoops had made a better decision earlier 3 years ago from the beginning instead of bringing in 2 unproven and inexperienced OCs. This is the SEC and not a starting job.

I think we can honestly win about 7-8 games this year. I am a little concerned about our Defense, though.

I see a drastic improvement for the offense. Gran and Hinshaw run a very efficient, balanced offense that will play to the current talent we have. We have a very good and soon to be very deep stable of running backs with the addition of Rose and Snell. Not only are they deep and talented but have a great mix of different style of runners. We have some burners in Boom & King, some power backs in Horton & Snell and some balanced backs in Kemp & Rose. Hopefully we can red shirt one of the 2 freshman. This will give Gran plenty options and flexibility on the ground. Then in the air we have a lot options and talent. We have a variety of deep threats, slot receivers possession receivers and a great young TE. The Gran, Hinshaw and whoever the new WR coach can solve the drops issue we should be looking really good at receiver. There is much more talent in this receiving core than they ever had to work with at UC- its all about solving the drops. I expect the offensive line to be much better this season too which will help qb play. The interior of the o line was actually very solid last year. We just got killed at the tackle spots. I think Tate and Young are day one starts at right and left tackle. Young is the most college ready tackle we have maybe ever had and you see true freshman starting at tackle throughout the SEC and places like Clemson. Having this upgrade at tackle will allow GAA to slide to guard allow with Toth and Myers to make a very formidable interior.

On the defensive side there will be some question marks but not in the secondary. We return every starter from the end of the season and have very good depth plus some very talented incoming freshmen and guys coming off a red shirt. Linebacker will rely heavily on the transfers but coaches have raved about Love and Laster in practice. If they play up to potential along with Hatcher, Ware and Allen we should be solid at LB. We really need some guys to step up on the d line. Elam upped his play late in the season and hopefully we continues to get in better shape. Hopefully we can get some help from Bell, Miggins and Pringle. If we can get some pressure on the qb I think the defense will actually be pretty damn good. It will really help the defense to have a solid offense who can stay on the field. The offense cost us at least 3 games last year. If the offense played even mediocre we beat half if not all of Auburn, Florida, Vandy and UofL. I am very excited for the season!

I think the big difference is that Landon appears (and I mean, appears) more mobile than either Meadows and (certainly) Mosier, who I do not think is physically built to be a tackle. There will definitely be bumps, as there always is with freshman, but I am hoping that we won't see situations where Landon is getting repeatedly beaten by a freakish defensive end that is way more talented, in terms of quickness.

I think people need to temper expectations next year. We lost tons of production from our front 7.

The qb situation on its own is enough of a reason to not get my hopes up. Every time I've got my hopes up (every single preseason except jokers last) I get severely let down. As good as the overall talent is, you're not going to win without a QB. Barker or Johnson need to be real serviceable. If the qb position isn't exponentially improved, then I expect a very long, frustrating season.

We can't continue to be the most predictable offense ever either, which has pretty much been the case since stoops has been here. Every time we have a lead. We can't go into the super conservative run the ball 3 times and punt mode, that stoops seems to love so dearly. Instead of running every play and punting with the lead (which I can promise you stoops is the reason we would go so conservative, air raid OCs don't do that). why not throw a couple deep balls here and there? If it is intercepted it's likely going to be the same as a punt, only difference is you're giving yourself a chance to expand the lead. I would just like to see our team try to step on the opponents throats when we gain a lead, and not put the fate of the game in the defenses hand. I really hate the way stoops likes to play with a lead (Example South Carolina game), it'll lose you the game more often than winning it for you. Playing not to lose is honestly the worst style of football there is I feel like. Especially when a defense has as many question marks as ours. And it just seems to be stoops calling card on offense, I know he doesn't call the plays but he does put in his input and that seems to be his trademark. He hates passing the ball with the lead. Let the defense win it for us seems to be stoops philosophy and I really don't understand it when you can avoid it by expanding the lead. Do what got you the lead to begin with! I just really hope to see that this season but I doubt stoops would allow it.
