Hard to imagine us not already being a borderline Top-5 team already with what we have (assuming Oweh comes back). Wilkerson should have us contending for the #1 team in America.
On the other hand, adding Wilkerson could make Indiana a preseason NIT contender...So the stakes are high.

You could basically ask this same thing about any magazine....or newspaper. My answer for any of the above would be since somewhere around 2002. About the time faster internet and cell phones were getting more and more common.

I agree completely. We should already be pushing top5 already and one more big addition, especially for a position we need, should get us into the convo for #1.
I like to think I'm pretty fair when rating my teams and their potential. We will have a top3 combined transfer/recruiting ranking for 2025 (maybe even #1), along with some solid returning pieces. Our coach won't be brand new and there will be things to build on. I'd also argue that with Kentucky getting possiblt better, and the SEC as a whole taking a step back, we should be in competition for a 1 seed most of the year.
No offense, preseason polls last week had UK going 4 to 6 depending on the poll and that was before JQ and the European kid committed.
Who do you have that will make the UNCHEATS even a contender for the WEAK ACC top 10???

The moment I learned we had JQ on board, I said we would be a top 5 team with Wilkerson, and just looking at these two posts, I just don't see how anyone couldn't think the same thing with a lineup like that.

I feel like my "all in faith and trust" support for CMP has thus far been rewarded. I sure do love that man for what he has done already. The man loves Kentucky basketball. LOVES BBN, loves Kentucky, period. I couldn't be happier and more positive in my support.

We can be quietly confident this team will go out and make us proud, no matter what the pre season ranking is, because we all know what it's about in the end, and no, John Vincent Calipari, it's not the NBA draft, or "attempting to end generational poverty". When your players are champions, their success as players, as well as being young men, will follow.

Pope has really excelled in the portal this year and getting a commit from Wilkerson would position the program as a real landing spot for transfers going forward. Of course, Pope still needs to translate the talent into success on the court but, I haven't seen anything that suggests he can't do that too. Exciting time to be a Cat fan!

I saw on another thread "So and so replaces Carr, So and So replaces Williams" and I said, if we add Wilkerson we would be head and shoulders above last year's team. I think we are borderline top 5 right now. We land Wilkerson and we are pushing for best roster in college basketball. There may be 3 other rosters on our level. We may not even be finished yet. We may add another point guard and maybe another shooting guard just to say hey we got our 15.
Could be the most versatile team in UK history (even 96).

Lets be real (and I loved last years team) we've upgraded almost across the board, including depth if everyone comes back.
Plus, we went from 1 guy that knows Pope and the system, to FIVE guys that know Pope, the system AND what to expect playing at UK.
That's going to help us tremendously hitting the ground running during the summer and beginning of season
Not only that, but players like Oweh, Chandler, Noah, and Perry will all have improved, increasing their confidence, knowing they have the ability to play well in very important games.
Not to be a downer,this is a really great team on paper. I think we should see how they actually play together before we start making a space in our trophy case however. A center coming off of ACL surgery, only one proven point guard, Oweh could stay in the draft. There are still some moving parts that need to come together. All that said if the injury bug stays away and the portal guys adjust to the big time, we should be a force in March.
