Advice sought, pros and cons of T-Mobile vs Verizon cellular.

I have T Mobile and am on the military plan so we get basically unlimited everything plus a prorated Netflix subscription for two lines for the same amount. I love T Mobile’s customer service - they are fast and responsive. That said, my account has been compromised three times (identity fraud) due to data breaches (including people using a fake ID to pretend to be my wife) but not within the past three years or so. I haven’t upgraded to 5G yet but my service suffers where I live (though it’s mostly solid in/around the rest of DC/NoVA). Hoping the upgrade will take care of the signal issues.
No idea what you might pay, but the difference in service is negligible IMO - if you can save some bucks by switching I would.
Unlimited use or unlimited data?
Most plans have no caps on voice and text use, but do limit your GB's of data usage. I have been pleased with Cricket. They offer a $40/month plan with 10GB of data and a $55/mo plan with unlimited data. They piggyback the AT&T network so coverage and reliability are good. I think they also knock $5/mo off if you do autopay via credit card.
There are other piggyback services out there, some of which use the Verizon network if that is better for your area.
I really like T-Mobile other than the data breaches but it seems like I'm in one of them once a month with some company or another. Anyway, I think you can most likely barging a good deal just for switching carriers and if you don't like the service go back I'm sure Verizon will give you a perk for changing back. 
Technically I'm still on Sprint, although since they merged I get Tmobile, but with my $20/month unlimited everything bill. I just buy my own phone and I don't have to switch. Technically my plan doesn't include 5G, but I get it anyways for some reason with my S21 ultra. It is fast. I mean really fast. I have a 100mb cable modem, and tmobile's 5G is 213 for me. It is ridiculously fast. Cell coverage since they merged is excellent, basically both maps merged now. Unless I'm visiting my sister out in the boonies, I don't have any problems. This is western PA.

Point taken. But in all honesty I have trouble focusing on the product when she is on the screen.
I switched from Verizon to Xfinity Mobile a year ago and it's been seamless. Xfinity uses the Verizon network so there was no change there. If you're not a big data user or typically connect to a non-mobile network (like myself), it's only $15/month for up to 1GB of data. Additionally, you get a $10 discount off your Xfiinity cable bill for being a Mobile customer. So it's really only a $5/month cost.
I have not had to use their customer service much so I cannot speak to that, but going from $90+/month to $5/month for the same service has been great.
Made the switch a year ago from Verizon to T Mobile.

Oh, btw, and this goes for any network, but if you're thinking of switching call the local store and see if you can get a sim card to throw in your phone so you can check coverage everywhere you normally go. That way you can keep your old service and/or port your number until you're sure the new service works. If for some reason your phone is network locked call up your carrier and get it unlocked. They can do it in about 5 minutes. If your phone is paid for, they have to do it. If it's not, tell them you're traveling overseas.
I've been with T-Mobile for about 5 years no and am very happy with it. We're on the unlimited over 55 plan, no taxes, no fees, unlimited text, voice, and data for $30 per phone per month. As a result of being a T-Mobile customer, I also get $10 per month off my monthly YouTube TV bill as well as a free subscription to the streaming MLB service every year. I get free text and data when traveling out of the country although due to the pandemic, I've not used this benefit for a while.
My only complaint is with their coverage. When traveling by car in the US, it does seem like T-Mobile's coverage is weaker than Verizon's. In some rural areas, we'll literally have no signal, even when on an interstate, so depending on where you live/go, Verizon may be a better option.
