After Oweh, who will be our other top scorers?

We have lots of nice "pieces", guys who are good in some way or another. But I'm not sure there is anyone of the known 12 guys other than Oweh that we can confidently say "he will average >10ppg next year". And it's not like Oweh is a Mashburn, Murray, Monk 20ppg level scorer. In fact, I think it more likely we have just 1 double-digit scorer than 4+ of them.

If I had to rank them in PPG for next year, 2-8 would probably be pretty close/clustered (no more than 2-3 ppg apart), and I bet 100 of us would come up with 100 different orders. I suppose mine would go something like:
Oweh, Johnson, Lowe, Quaintance, Garrison, Chandler, Dioubate, Williams
Then a gap followed by Lewis, Noah, Moreno, Perry.

We need more than just 1 guy (Oweh) who when we need a basket, can just go get one!

Lowe and Oweh are already double digit scorers at the high major level, although the ACC sucks.

In general, we are getting more well rounded basketball players. That makes it easier to go get a bucket. Make the defense pick their poison.

Oweh 14.4
Johnson 10.5
Quaintance 10.4

Garrison 9.4
Chandler 9.1
Diobate 8.7
Williams 7.9
Lewis 7.1
Moreno 6.1
Noah 2.1
Perry 1.7

Historically great offense 97ppg. Genuinely could see us being a complete juggernaut next year

Lowe was a volume scorer for Pitt, they were bad and someone had to get them points.if he takes 1/2 as many shots as last year I’ll be shocked.

Well rounded is good. But you still need 2-3 guys who can get you some if need it.

We need another scorer IMO.
We need Alvaro over everybody. The guy can give you everything on the stat sheet. If JQ is late coming back for some reason we will only have Garrison and Moreno with any real size. Nobody has mentioned that. We need Alvaro over a guard because we have Lowe at the one, Oweh at the two, and Chandler, Noah, Perry and even Williams that can shoot. I would love to have a Pierre as another guard but getting another talented big that can score and do everything is a no brainer to me. We need Alvaro to be thoroughly covered at all positions. Plus, if JQ is late coming back he can play the five with Williams and Dioubate as the forwards when Garrison is resting or in foul trouble.

We’ve got more guys who can really handle the ball coming into this year than we had last year. That’s a big part of being able to get a bucket. I don’t think playmaking will be a problem.

I like Pierre’s ability to create for himself and others, and his incredible athleticism. But I hope he can buckle down and play defense, or I don’t want him.

Check out what Diobate did in any games hw got 20 minutes. He produces when he’s on the court
I agree, I just think that we need another guy that has some height at 6-9, can play the 4 or 5, efficient shooter, scorer, rebounder and passer. Plus, Folgueiros is only a sophomore. I think Moreno is going to be a good player in time, but let's be realistic, when Garrison is out to rest or fouls, Alvaro is going to produce a ton more than Moreno at the five if JQ is delayed in his return for some reason.

I think Lowe will get 12-14 a night. He's wired to score and will drive it a lot.

Heck it will all depend on minute distribution. If CMP gets 1 more high end combo guard, we will have many, options. When we talked about scorers last year go back and see how many people bagged on Oweh. Said he could not lead us in scoring.

Oweh, Williams, Mo D, Lowe, Garrison, Chandler, JQ, Lewis, Moreno could all end up with 10 a game. We have no idea how this team will mesh, which will fit the best in the system and so forth. I agree there will be another guy we do not know yet that will be on that list and if Alvaro comes he will be another on the list. You will not have 10 guys be the scorer. Now the coach has to plug in pieces that mesh together, play off each other and then the 4 other guys that will get the gist of the 200 minutes a game. Like herding cats at this point. Too many directions to go.

One thing so far with this set of guys, if you do not play defense, you might just be sitting the pine, have an off night and you will see for that game way less minutes (as it should be).

GO BIG BLUE!

CMP Get 1 to 2 more guys. AF (Alvaro) and a good combo guard.

I think Chandler is going to be the break out star scoring wise.

Pope’s offense means every starter and the sixth man are going to score double figures.

I'm really hoping Chandler continues the trajectory we saw toward the end of the season and reaches his potential. If so, I believe he can be a double digit scorer. Maybe not this next year, but at some point?

Ain’t happening. Only four Power Five Conference teams have averaged more than 89 points per game in the last 22 years. It’s probably way more than that, but that’s as far back as I looked.

It’s obvious that 97ppg is not going to happen. It’s to point out something though. I’d love to have another shooter but we have plenty of offense. I didn’t list a single number next to anyone’s name that was just “crazy”. Some of them are lower than they probably will be.

I really would like to add Pierre then another front court guy for depth, doesn’t have to be a stud but someone with 5 fouls that will rebound and play defense.

Wonder if we are building a roster that competes in the out of conference or a team that can win out of conference and in the SEC highway to hell. This past season was above average but we need that 13 win Kentucky team in the SEC and playing only 3 games during SEC TOURNAMENT. Our out of conference games can be cupcakes rack up wins then play the SEC.

It's like we've went from all five stars to all portal and the freshman are a afterthought. We've got three freshman two guards I think most are over looking. Some maybe one and done. Perry maybe to small to slow but he was forced into action. Chandler will be great and Noah will contribute. I think we Are in better shape for scorers than most think. Had a couple freshman last year so pretty well

Depending on the leap Kam Williams makes, I could see him being our second scorer. If he flourishes and reaches his potential, he will be a great wing player for us. Johnson will probably get the minutes to be our second leading scorer though. Jayden also will be close.

The thing about this team is, it is loaded with so much potential. If we hit close to that potential, we could win it all. Oweh, Johnson, Jayden and Kam hitting on all cylinders will make this team very difficult to beat.

If JQ is healthy, I think it looks like this, if we don’t add or lose anyone else:

Oweh
Lowe
Quaintance
Johnson
Garrison
Dioubate
Williams
Lewis
Chandler
Moreno
Noah
Perry

We aren’t going to have 1 double digit scorer lol. Also Lowe can create his own shot. with better players around he can be more efficient. We do need another shooter but this is a bit extreme
