I can't recall a better game played by a UK QB. Obviously UL's defense was over-rated statistically, but they weren't bad all year. This isn't Couch against an overmatched UL or IU. Johnson beat them throwing and passing. Clutch third down throws, a clutch 4th, beautiful deep balls. Those two to G. Johnson were awesome. Scampered for a couple of firsts on 3rd and long. His one bad throw, he made to himself ;). Hell, those two incompletions in the corner to Timmons were beautiful, UL cb made great plays both times. The pick was a decent throw, UL player got there a split second early. Played smart, played big, carried the team to victory!. Thank you Mr Johnson!! On that day, yesterday, he was the best QB on the field.

I was asking myself when was the last time a UK QB had that type of a big game? Woodson in 2007? Been a while.

SJ came here and people paid little notice. He was trashed by some. He said he came to start. I believed him. And, here he is. The unpredicted hero. That kind of attitude and ability to work and have faith in the face of criticism and unbelief is rare.

You need a good QB to win more than a few games. But, to win big, you need a winner at QB.
