I’ve always been a PSU uniform purist, but I really liked the looks of the two white stripes on the sleeves of the QB jerseys.
Against my better judgement, a BW game observation I have to mention…..

I hated them , though it appeared to me, only the QB wore them
Yeah, was thinking it must have been to help highlight the QB so they didn’t get hit. They’ve worn red jerseys in the past so this was new.
Garbage, Penn State wears Blue and White not Black and White with White Stripes
I think the added weight of the arm stripes hindered the QB's passing strength and accuracy

James won’t allow the color red anywhere is program. Do this was a trade off to red. Stripes to differentiate from other colors. QBs wear blue at practice when rest of offense wears white. Defense wears blue.
His only good throw was side-armed.
