Am looking for a hot tub and to say I have sticker shock would be a giant understatement. I had no idea they were so expensive so I'm looking at this as an alternative and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

I would avoid the inflatables. It’s not if, but when the liner gets pierced.

I know at first read this might sound gross, but I would actually look for super high end fiberglass tubs on eBay, Craigslist or equivalent.

After haggling a really good deal, just run a 10%-15% bleach solution through the unit for 24 hours.

👍

Buyer beware with used tubs....plenty of scammers out there.
If you buy used, make sure you see it actually running...heat and jets....and isn't leaking

For what it’s worth we’ve had this model at both nj and de houses. It’s never given us a bit of trouble so once you suck it up and buy it, you’re set for a long time. You can probably get interest free for a few years.

Ours is family only. When I lived in Hopat’s, big Pete and Marlon would take care of simple cub when we traveled. They were sworn to secrecy moms wouldnt find out they were using the tub. Every night BP would text me everyone was fvcking in the tub lol I drained and cleaned it on return just in case

FYI the inflatable tubs make bubbles by forcing air through a bunch of small holes. They don't move actual water through the jets like real tubs. So less relaxing.

The heaters also work very slowly only raising the water temperature by 1° per hour. So you have to keep it constantly warm.

I thought I was on the marriage thread for a second .
Similar. Husband or wife screws around on their spouse w/ an old flame they reconnected with on FB, then remaining spouse sells pool table or hot tub on FB as an act of revenge.

Moms said she’d put all my cool stuff (golf clubs/shotguns etc) in my Miata and light it up in the front yard

Bro my hot tub was $15k and I bought it in 2021. I can't even imagine how much that bad boy would cost today.

Which is exactly why I’m looking at the inflatable. The prices are insane.

Remember it’s not just the tub - if you put it in your deck you most likely will need to reinforce your deck and you will also need a new dedicated electrical line and box unless you get the less expensive plug in types.

FYI with plug in ones you can use either the water jets or the heater, but not both at same time because of the current draw.

You'll need a 40A+ circuit for a real hot tub so plan on another $1-2000 in electrician work too depending on how far you are from your electrical panel.

You guys really believe cooking and cleaning are unfit pursuits for men?

FWIW, the reason I don’t cook is because I suck as a cook, and my wife is a brilliant cook. But I do all the cleaning in my household. I used to be a janitor so I know my trade, and my house is spotless. Part of being a mathematician is spending endless hours thinking about problems and I might as well clean while I’m doing that. Right now I’m trying to prove that the prime spectrum of a Boolean ring is a Hausdorff space.

Weiners and ASSparagrus? You love handling those weiners for a few minutes and then shoving them in your mouth where they'll burst ... don't you? Meanwhile, there's an another Amazon package being delivered in the rear. You go boy! Do you try to fit them all in your mouth at once?

You have a bad habit of putting words in posters mouths. Nobody said that.
