If you hike from Glacier Point down to the Valley there is the Four Mile Trail which is straight down and more like five miles. I would recommend another route from Glacier Point to Nevada Fall then follow the Merced River past Vernal Fall to the Valley. It’s about 8.5 miles but the same amount of downhill and you get to go past the two falls.Half Dome is a great hike that goes very close to at least two beautiful waterfalls. Nowadays, I believe you need a permit to go all the way to the top of Half Dome, so plan accordingly. You need to be in really good hiking shape for the Half Dome hike, but just going to the top of the falls is doable as well.
Another beautiful hike is to start at Glacier Point and hike from there back down into Yosemite Valley. As it is downhill the whole way, it is a less strenuous hike than the Half Dome hike.
How was Yosemite? It's always been on my bucket list but I've heard horror stories about crowds and after dealing with the crowds at Zion I said never again. Apparently I was one of the lucky ones that got to MOAB before it became really super popular same with Canyon Lands.Back in LA![]()
The tourists are horrible and have completely ruined Yosemite. How was Yosemite? I think next on my list now is the Bisti Badlands, I was there once but would like to hire a guide. It's a very, very easy place to get lost in.
Easy solution - go to popular parks during shoulder seasons. How was Yosemite? One of the great ones.. Teddy Roosevelt created the foundation on which the national parks agency was founded a decade later, now we are trying to sell off the national parks, but the parliamentarian removed selling of federal properties from the big, beautiful billthe rock quarry too.
All of the more reasons to sell the national parks
Borrow a dictionary and look up “sarcasm.”OMG. You are fundamentally stupid.
I never want to drive across any bridge you have ever designed.
Thank you Nutlick,OMG. You are fundamentally stupid.
When did you start becoming so political? It's rather sad to see this. I've been to Yosemite many times. Climbed everything there when I lived in AZ. Literally, took a "white, steril Buffalo" out to the Crow nation years ago from NC in the winter. Drove over to Yosemite, and dropped down into Colorado for the NFR finals.Thank you Nutlick,
Does this prequalify me for acceptance to your "The Cult"?
